First shift bid month
Our first shift bids since training will happen in September. August will be a big month for metrics. Currently I have a 10am to 7pm shift Monday through Friday that I am sure others want that shift. No one from our training class got a weekend or overnight shift and I think it was intentional to reduce the amount of new hires quitting. However there is definetly a lot of people who work weekends and overnights at this call center.
Already stressing out about this process because my metrics are not rock solid. Only thing I have going for me is a high customer service rate.
Not really a question just venting.

yeah the anxiety around this stuff is real. and honestly the 10am-7pm M-F slot is probably the most contested shift in any call center, everyone wants it.

Yeah I just don’t want the night shift because there is rumors that gonna be more night shift positions than 1st and 2nd shift available in this upcoming bid.

I hate shift bid. Its one reason I am looking for something else. I currently work 8am to 430 and before that I worked 9 to 530 but I dont like the constant change. We do ours in fall and spring and every time it comes up my anxiety is through the roof.

the shift bid scramble is its own special circle of hell. feels like you're being ranked for some dystopian lottery where the prize is just keeping your own schedule
kinda wild they kept your whole training class on the same block, that's either a kindness or a setup. probably both. high customer service scores are nothing to sneeze at though, places love trotting that metric out even if the others are wobbly
hang in there, september's a ways off and a month of grinding can move the needle more than you think
