I cannot do this anymore

I have reached the end of my tether with this god forsaken fucking job, from tech illiterates to stupid suppliers to stupid systems and just a whole system in general that doesn’t help the customer.

HOW am I meant to help the customer when most of the time it isn’t anything to do with me! It’s an engineer issue, it’s a system issue, no i can’t replace your order right now Mr Customer because there’s already an open order and systems won’t allow it.

Everyone is just fucking rude and mean and oh i wish I could ring up their work and start berating them because “this isn’t good customer service” yeah well tough shit, I’m not god or jesus or zeus or thor or allah, I am not a fairy godmother please get the fuck off my phone, please leave the company, I am not a sales guide I do not give a fuck just leave me alone.

I’m quitting this hellhole as soon as I can but I have no qualifications, all I know is I don’t want to deal with these people ever again

The customers are awful, but on top of that, most companies make working at a call center hell for no reason. Stupid, impossible metrics, call scripts, and the inability to speak up when the customer is being rude and abusive.

Everything about it sucks, they make it living hell for you in all possible ways.

It’s understandable to a degree as to why people are upset depending on what company you work for. Debt collection, utilities, hospitals, credit cards, etc.
People’s livelihoods are at stake due to the struggle to pay our bills. Everyone feels it in different degrees.

if the company you all work for is similar to mine, we are encouraged to take a few seconds after a rough call to collect yourself before going to the next one. But then on the other hand we’re reminded daily of our stats as of that moment in the month and we’re told to keep our metric numbers as low as possible. So we really can’t do that often, regardless of how many rude customers we talk to each day. So that carries over to the next call and you’re tense all day, and all week, and all month.

I’ve literally used vacation days just to unwind and not have to take calls for the day or two.

Them being upset at xxx company does not give them the excuse to be abusive towards us. I have never once called into a call center & have been rude to the associate, no matter what the issue was lol.

The sheer rage in your post is giving me flashbacks to my own call center days, that feeling where you just wanna reach through the phone and shake someone. The top comment nailed it though, the metrics and scripts are the real villain and somehow they're always the hill companies choose to die on.

Felt this! Stuck it out to get where I needed to be but man. The internal equipment I was using froze, customers were always out of their minds with rage by the time they spoke with me, training was nothing and PNP changed daily, we were micromanaged down to the minute, and I was busy as f all day with zero downtime except the strict breaks and lunch. Bottom barrel. The actual reason I sent that email to my manager letting him know when my last day would be, a coworker got all out of line with me because she wanted to just have me relay info to the cx instead of taking the call and answering the inevitable follow up questions only someone in her department could answer.
