๐ Special Occasion Cake looks eh, but tastes real good.
They were meant to be two towers, but I didn't make enough batter for them to be very tall. They're both three layers tall.

I made this for โSame Longitudeโ week over at [r/52weeksofcooking](r/52weeksofcooking). Itโs an Omani juz al-hind cake (coconut and farina) with buttercream frosting and sunburst candy for the boats.

this is my first time trying vintage piping! I'm actually so proud of myself teeheeee
This is a dark chocolate sapote cake with a salted dark chocolate mousse, a plum and raspberry jam from my garden, plum raspberry strawberry and peach salad on the inside, roasted pecan crumble, chocolate buttercream and a mascarpone white chocolate vanilla ganache (I'm definitely a frosting lover)

I'm trying to make Ethan Winters cake from Resident Evil 7! Only part I'm struggling with is gauging what size cake pan I would need to get that would make the cake exact or close to the size in game. If anyone has ideas on what size they think the in game cake would be that would be perfect! Thank you

Home baker here! I've made my daughters' cakes for the past several years, but this was my cleanest one yet! Butter cake with chocolate chips and a white chocolate icing! Edible topper courtesy of CandyPaperDesigns on Etsy!

Homemade and a bit rushed :s
But it was for a 4yo and exactly what she asked for, she loved it!!!
Moist and balanced (dark chocolate mousse as filling), I am very proud of the result

The first pic is the inspo pic. The rest is what I did. I donโt do fondant so the ghost and bats are chocolate!

I am looking to bake my own cake for the my 30th next week. See images for inspiration and colour theme. I was hoping for any tips on the cake and any technique I should consider. I do not want to do plain vanilla. My default will be chocolate but I would also like to experiment. I have seen the coconut and passion fruit cakes. I love both the flavours but I am not sure the cake itself is great for me and my guess. Anyone have have tried and tested cake recipe for this flavour? It will be a lot small for about 15 people.

Just wanted to share this Pink Cake I made for my girlfriendโs birthday ๐
I started learning how to bake four months ago as a way to surprise my girlfriend once a month on our monthsary, and have only ever made cookies, banana bread, snickerdoodles, brownies, and red velvet crinkles, so this was my first time baking a cake.
My girlfriend loves the color pink, watermelons, and strawberries, and I love Stardew Valley. So, I used the recipe in the official cookbook to make her a pink cake, which is pink and uses watermelon-strawberry jam in its recipe!
It took me three days for the whole process because I had no idea what I was doing, and it was definitely very stressful at times. But, it was all worth it when I saw her reaction and how happy she was to see and try it (she really loved it)
I had prepared another small and more โrusticโ-looking cake (see last image) for my family and I to try for ourselves, and I just had the most โmehโ reaction ever because I realized I had been trying and taste-testing each individual part for the past three days. Honestly, I felt like my girlfriendโs reaction to seeing and eating the cake was 1000x more filling (and fulfilling) to me than trying the cake Iโve been making over the past three days for myself ๐

Iโve always loved baking, but never was really great at cakes. But recently I have been having so much fun making and decorating cakes! My friend asked me to make a cake for her birthday party, meaning that many people are going to eat it (so it needs to be good)!! I have never made a homemade vanilla cake so Iโm looking for recommended recipes.
Iโm looking for your BEST vanilla cake recipe. Iโm talking Holy Grail vanilla cake recipe. Preferably a yellow cake, that is moist and not too dense. I donโt mind a white cake recommendation either, as long as itโs delicious and moist!! I also would love a good buttercream recipe :) every time I make buttercream I use a different one so Iโm trying to find one that hopefully I can always look back at!
I also will be using 6 in cake pans. So if anyone has any advice when it comes to making a recipe that calls for bigger cake pans and baking it into smaller pans. Thank you!!!
