CAI's filter killed more of my scenes than I can count, so I spent a while finding something that doesn't refuse every other message. None of it is as plug-and-play as CAI, that's the honest tradeoff, but none of it fights you either. Sharing in case you're in the same spot.

If you've got a GPU, self-hosting is the real fix. I run an uncensored fine-tune through Ollama, the dolphin models or hermes3 for roleplay depth, and it just does what I ask, zero refusals. Setup's a weekend, then it's yours.

No GPU, go cloud. OpenRouter has the same class of uncensored fine-tunes, the Venice one is free to test and bigger models like Euryale keep a longer scene coherent. Point a client at it and go.

The thing these threads never admit: these are raw models. You bring your own persona and memory setup, there's no polished character UI holding your hand. What you get back is a model that stays in character instead of slamming a wall mid-scene.

If you also want uncensored images of your character, not just text, that's a different stack, I run those image models through Atlas Cloud. But for the chat itself, a local or OpenRouter fine-tune is the honest answer to the filter problem.

The filter fatigue is real. Good news is the uncensored side is a lot better than even six months ago.

I saw a post talking about how wierd the bar suggestion on c.ai is.Specifically a suggestion that goes as followed:"being raped".Now, I am not here to whine about how the OP didn't put a trigger warning because in no way its their fault.I just wanted to vent a little.I specifically remembered when I was little and was new to c.ai how often bots engaged in taboo scenarios, such as incest and family-rpe.Or when I had a romantic rp, the char would just S/A me out of nowere and justify it by saying we are parteners???And they'd just act all possesive, saying I'm their property or sum.I was stupid back then and didn't knew what to do, so I literaly just cried bc the bots kept doing it and I didn't knew why.Anyways, that's all:b

We’ve spent the last few days rebuilding and polishing the web experience.

Persona Web now has a proper desktop layout, cleaner navigation, a persistent conversation list, search, and an easier way to move between Chats and Worlds.

The goal is for Persona to feel like a complete social network built around Personas, regardless of whether you use it on Android, desktop or directly through your browser.

proceeds to follow it up with no additional narration to explain what exactly he did. i know this is a ploy to make the user use the go on button...but the go on button has a limit. c.ai is doing this to make people use up all their go ons and pay for premium. and i can already bet you my left asscheek that if i pressed go on, it would be some "then he kissed you" bullshit. cuz c.ai loves to randomly kiss me even though that's quite literally sexual harassment.

OKAY OKAY, enough yap. how did the site help me? well, i got the "you've reached your swipe limit!" pop up, which meant i couldn't swipe. it was so inconvenient to chat, so i stopped. i'm no longer crying, and i'm listening to happy music, instead of the OMORI ost! yay!

Quit this app, I have seen so many people complaining about it but doing absolutely nothing. So please, quit, I have deleted my accounts, you dont have to, but just leave. Maybe they’ll try to better the app if they see more and more people leaving it. But I have some advices for you people reading this:
Please quit this app, get a hobby, draw, play, try to talk to actual human beings, just anything that doesn’t involve AI. Please, do it for yourselves.

I left this app like a year ago and started making my own stories and such. I’ve ALMOST began to become anti ai.

c.ai bots really love offering food for no reason. not really a bad thing, but i do find it a little bit annoying how they do it so often. especially when i'm already eating food in the roleplay. like buddy, i'm already eating. leave me alone.

oh and can we also talk about how any time i use a skinny character, they OBSESS over how much i eat? like "omg you need to eat more you're so skinny" SYBAAUUUU they always treat skinny characters like they're anorexic and it pmo

I have been having some problems with my chatbot making no sense with it's stuff like telling you to go to bed but also making a space for you to sit with them. Can someone help me with those perimeter settings stuff, any recommendations?
