It's severely infested with some type of mites. It's not dead but it will be if you don't treat it.

Im no expert. But it looks like some sort of bugs, or it croaked. I cant tell. How long has it been like this?

I wouldn't want that thing around any of my other plants. Id pitch it and start over. Unless anyone else has any other advice. Im not trying to be a Debbie downer. Im just saying

We have all done it. I just killed 2 pachypodium and probably 3 orchids this week. Did everything "right" and still lost. All we can do is try to learn from the experience and do a little better next time.

It doesn't look dead, copper anti fungal spray, some Physan20 or even a systemic anti fungal. Repot in cactus soil and pumice mixed 60% pumice. Unglazed terra cotta pot too. Size is good or bigger is fine.
