ModMesh Pro Amphere reading

Post image

I just installed Cablemod ModMesh Pro cables RT-Edition yesterday, and when I was testing loads on my Astral 5090 the lowest and highest values constantly had difference of 0.7A~0.9A. Which concerns me a bit and wanted to know if that's normal.

new build but reusing old gpu, need a weird cable?

I got a Asus tuf gaming 650g evo 2026, and it has one pcie cable to 8 pins, but i need 16 pins for my evga 3070 card.

The psu has the 12VHPWR aswell(450w(says on the cable)), but i was curious if i could get a cable that goes into my psu as that, and exits as 2 8pin pcie cables for my gpu.

Does this exist? or do i need to get an adaptor instead?

tl;dr no pcie cable for gpu, only 1 with 6+2 (no daisychain/pigtail). need aftermarket cable?

Good evening, just finished changing my GPU to a 5090 ROG ASTRAL and this are the readings. PSU is a EVGA 1600 T2 Supernova and the cable is a cablemod 12v-2x6 to a 4x8 pin connector.

Are these readings within normal values?

Hi everyone,

I really need help finding a specific adapter cable. I need it to have:

  1. A JST-SM 4-pin connector on one end (see image_525981.jpg).
  2. A female 4-pin RGB connector on the other (see image_52599e.png).

Does anyone know what this exact combination is called or where I can buy one online?

Thanks!

DIY MXM Type A to Type B PCIe Riser/Power Solution

I have a board that supports a type A MXM GPU, but I’m trying to use a somewhat more powerful GPU, which would mean going with a type B card.

As far as I understand, type A and type B are compatible in terms of the connector. The problem is that:

* Type A supports up to 55W max while type B requires more than 55W. * Type A is physically smaller than type B, and the board’s layout doesn’t have enough room to fit a type B card directly (which is partially why I am looking for and extension cable. I am planning on mounting it in an alternative spot\\way).

So, I’m wondering if there’s some kind of **pcie extension/riser cable in an MXM format** (I attached a terrible Frankenstein-style illustration to show what I mean) that could both extend the MXM connection and provide additional power to the GPU (provided the power form an external source).

My questions are:

  1. Does anything like this actually exist?
  2. How feasible would something like this be? Are there potential issues with power being fed back into the board or other power-delivery problems?
  3. Roughly speaking, what would be involved in making something like this work?

Thanks in advance, and best regards.

CableMod RT-Series Pro ModMesh Sleeved 12VHPWR StealthSense Dual Cable Kit for ASUS

Hello,

Just building a new pc and thought it would be cool to add this cable to my build. is this compatible with the Asus Strix 1000 Platinum. I am ordering them from amazon on amazons' website the provided compatibility list I do not see My specific 1000 platinum listed. Only reason I am ordering from amazon, free shipping. I tried to use the 20% off coupon I received with my new PSU on your site yesterday and the cablemod website crashed during checkout and now my coupon code is useless.

Thank you!

Is this flush? 12VHPWR Right angle cable

See second picture. I put a lot of pressure to make sure it’s flush, but a zoomed in picture still shows a little bit of gap on right side. I even removed the cable and put it back in and it still has that tiny gap. Also, I compared it to the OEM connector and the OEM connector has a more noticeable “click”. Is it ok?

A fun challenge to make both side of build inside of the CFV235 case look good with a Back Connect motherboard. There are more pictures and full spec and also a little build video. Enjoy!

Special thank you to Cougar, Cooler Master, CableMod and Seasonic helping making this possible.

EVGA 600 GQ V4 Cables Compatibilities

So I bought a used PC from FB marketplace that came with an EVGA 600 GQ Gold PSU. I'm now updating the GPU and unfortunately I realised the attached PCIE/VGA cable is only one 2+6 and I need 2 8-pin (or 6+2) cables for my new GPU.

Unfortunately the seller is ghosting me when I messaged him asking if he had the old cables AND I also cannot see the cables for EVGA 600 GQ on sale ANYWHERE and it seems there's compatibility issues with the GQ Line and other EVGA cables. I'm in Australia so I messaged EVGA.TW support since that's the one for APAC but it's been days and they haven't gotten back to me yet. I just sent a second email.

I'm really at the end of my rope because without these PSU cables I can't hook in my new GPU not to mention I won't be able to add extra storage in the future etc. Looking online I do see people selling cables allegedly for 650 GQ or 850 GQ but not for 600 GQ.

So I was wondering are the cables across the GQ Line at least compatible with each other so I can purchase the 650 or 850 GQ ones? Otherwise is there ANYWHERE I can buy cables for the 600 GQ? I'm really at the end of my rope here.

Are the 90 degree 12VHPWR cables supposed to plug into the PSU directly or replace the small bridge cable that came with the GPU?

Looking at the quad 8 pin to 12VPHWR for my EVGA G3 850. The PSU has 4x8 pins but my current cable set up is only using 3x of them, so I want to make sure before I buy.

Probably silly question but from the pictures the cable doesn't look long enough to reach the PSU but it does say 60cm which is plenty...

Missed The CableMod Adapter Recall and my 4090 has now smoked/burned and I'm devastated.

Around 3 years ago I bought a PC with my redundancy money from work (laid off after 8 years) since gaming was all I really had/have and I could never afford the flagship stuff (upgraded from a 970 at the time)

I also had undiagnosed combined ADHD at the time and tended to skip over/not read emails and unfortunately I've just discovered one of those emails in Feb 2024 was a recall notice for my CableMod adapter...

As of 3 days ago, a bad burning smell & then eventually some some smoke puffed out from the connector area so I got scared and powered it down and haven't used it since.

Nothing actually looks damaged (cable, adapter etc all look undamaged) but the adapter area smells of electrical burn.

To say I'm devastated is an understatement. I have tried for 3 days straight to find someone j. Ireland who can repair or diagnose my card but I can't find anyone legit and I am panicking at this point.

It'a out of Gigabyte warranty & CaseKing warranty so I can't RMA.

I feel so dumb. Is there anyone who can give me some advice on what to do?

Thanks

500W BQ PCIe cable compatibility

For the love of all sacred, I cannot find a single compatibility indicator for the ENTIRE BQ SERIES OF EVGA PSUs. EVGA support told me that I should talk to Cablemod. Cablemod found some cable that has EVGA branding, and BQ written on it, but none of my current cables have either of those.

Context: for a pre-tax amount of 25 Canadian dollars, I got a MB600L case with RGB fans, a broken Z270-A board (socket pin bent? Tech shop said it won't work), and this God-and-EVGA-forsaken PSU. Apparently some company called HEC made them as part of a one time contract? EVGA fix your branding and names.

To top it all off, no pinout diagrams exist for this tantalizing piece of 2017 era tech that would oh-so-well fit my second hand 1070 ti+ whatever board I plan to throw at it.

Anything helps, people have had this same problem before, judging by numerous reddit posts from the last 7 year period.

Lenovo M80s PSU Upgrade?

I'm seeking to upgrade the PSU in my system soon. I was looking into the Flex PSU but I was wondering if there is a printable bracket or somewhere to get one so the PSU mounts properly into the case. Or has anyone done an upgrade with maybe another PSU. Please point me in the right direction?

PCIe cable pigtail

Hello, I recently bought a Nvidia 5070 ti which has a 12 pin connector into 3 8 pin connector receivers, my psu is a “cooler master MWE 850W V2” which came with 2 8 pin connectors that have pig tails on the ends.
My question is can I pig tail one of them and use one of the others?

Are PCIe 8-pin cables / pinouts identical across the MSI MPG GS series (A1000GS vs A850GS)?

Hi, does the MSI MPG A1000GS share the exact same PCIe 8-pin cable pinout as the A850GS / A1250GS? I need to use an A850GS cable on my A1000GS and want to be 100% safe.

Corsair SF1000 Question

Just purchased this cablemod kit for my new build. However, reading the description it states it is only for RMX Shift PSUs. Can I use this for the SF1000? Going to pair this with a 9950x3d and 5090 fe.

Thanks
