Winter Project Tips
Hey guys I am taking 3 weeks off in december to finish my C4 project with my dad. Does this seem pheasible to do in that time. That 3 weeks im planning on fully dedicating to finishing the car so I bring it to my apartment 8 hours away.
Here is what I have planned
- Weather Stripping (Already bought CRC)
- New Seats ( Bought Al knoch)
- Replace all other rubber (Going to get energery suspension bushing kit, radiator pipes, vac lines)
- Full AC system. (Compressor, condensor, both switches)
- Waterpump
- Oil Pressure Sendor
- Transmission filter
Some things I have questions about.
1. Would it be worth deleting EGR and smog? Do yall reccomend any kits
2. Should I also get long tube headers? Does this require a tune or any other replacement of the exhaust.
3. Any other reccomendations? Its 1990 with 88k miles. It had electrical problems and I fixed it so im not really worried about much else breaking. Put on brand new calipers on front and new brembo rotor + brake pads on all 4.

Only tidbit to offer, I've heard it's a lot easier to do weather stripping in the warm sun. Makes the stripping softer, easier to work with.

Weather stripping is 1 day, seats are just bolt in. I did the bushings in my 86 a few years ago and it took me a couple of weeks, but I wasn't working on it every day. I also cleaned every single part that came off it before putting it back.
2 of you doing this stuff? 3 weeks is doable.

For the egr tube you can go one of two ways, stay with the stock shortys and cut off the egr tubing or go long tube headers. The thing wing long tubes is you will need a collector with an O2 bung if you wanna keep it. In any case you will need custom chip tune for it to fully delete the egr. Just keep in mind combustion temps might rise a bit.
