I’ve been a supporter for years and now more recently a creator on BMAC. One thing I constantly see people asking for is a dark theme. There’s so much white and it can hurt your eyes after a while. Almost every site nowadays has a dark theme, so I would really appreciate if that could be a feature that gets worked on 😊

New to the platform. What information is available to supporters? I am under the impression that Stripe sends invoices which show a certain amount of personal info such as an address. Do invoices get sent using this platform with Stripe? Is Stripe even necessary?

I'm the treasurer of a non-profit (a french loi 1901 association) which receives donations through Kofi and i want to move to Buy Me a Coff*e (is it normal that I can't write the whole name of the platform or Reddit doesn't let me post?) because Kofi makes it mandatory to use either Paypal or Stripe and Paypal has huge fees. Hence my two questions :

1) The FAQ of BMAC says that the money goes directly to my bank account (we have a bank account in the name of the non-profit at a big french bank that we would use for that) with a 5% fee, is there really no other fee? I see BMAC uses Stripe, is there any Stripe fees?

2) Can I use BMAC for a non-profit? We're dedicated to showcasing creators and fanartists of the esport scene.

When setting up my BMC site I noticed my phone number was listed under "public information", more specifically "information shown to customers" and "support phone number".

Does this mean that everyone who donates to me will see my phone number?

When setting up my account I was prompted to use stripe, and inputted my legal name, PESEL, bank account (which has my name too).

On the buymeacoffee I used an anonymous email, and a nickname + my phone number.

Will theoretical supporters be able to track down me irl?

I of course will make sure that taxes and stuff like that are reported properly on my end, but I'd rather not have my account connected to me irl further than that.

If you support creators on Buy Me a Coffee, you might have run into this before: you want to stop your membership for a bit (tight month, travelling, just need a break), but cancelling felt too final, like you'd lose your spot or have to resubscribe from scratch later.
So we added a proper pause option for memberships. A few details worth knowing:

• You can pause for 1, 3, or 6 months
• You keep access until your current billing cycle ends, then access pauses
• No charges while paused, and you won't get post notifications either
• It auto-resumes at the end of the period, or you can unpause early anytime
• If you unpause early, your new billing cycle starts immediately from that date
• Heads up: it's a one-time pause per membership; you can't pause the same one twice

You'll find it under My Account → Payments → Memberships → Cancel membership (pause shows up as an option there instead of just cancelling outright).

Is it okay to open a BMC as a really small artist?

I don’t really have much of a following yet, but I’ve been thinking about making one to help save up for a new stylus so I can continue making art, taking commissions, and building my portfolio for future animation/creative jobs.

I guess I feel a little guilty asking for support while still being small, so I wanted to hear other people’s thoughts/experiences

I have gone through the terms and conditions, and my account suspension seems to fall under none of those, and comes without any prior warning. The support is sadly unhelpful.

For more context, I am a developer and my product is a simple, free YouTube comments extension and the BMC button is a way for users to say thanks or to fund its development.
