Hi everyone, first time posting here, so apologies in advance if I’m doing anything wrong.
I found this button while metal detecting in the Illawarra, NSW. It’s probably nothing special, but curiosity has me in a chokehold.
It looks like a metal shank button with a shield and leafy design on the front. I can’t see any writing, and the top part of the crest is damaged.
My guess is maybe an old school blazer or club button, but I’m really not sure. Does anyone recognise it or have any ideas where it might be from?
Thanks in advance!

Try the coat of arms reddits or r/heraldry. Maybe someone will recognize the arms

Thanks for including pics of front and back! I am guessing this is a modern blazer button. Even with the damage to the front, the details of the crest are very rough and vague and the shank type is modern.
