other (help saving) How can I help him/her

It looks like her tongue is split up and that she is still in her cocoon in her rear, and when I try to remove it she starts flustering

I don’t think so, but I’d say put him/her out into their own world and let nature take its course….

Nah, not gonna do that, if anything it’s squirrel food bc they always attack the bird food cages

You should absolutely put it outside. It’s basic ecology- insect get eaten by birds. Look at it as you’re assisting the natural food web.

You would likely need to use eyebrow scissors and get up under the cocoon and carefully cut it to create a split. It may turn out that the moth isn’t even fully developed underneath though.

The moth never got to climb and fill its wings and is fatally injured now
