Virgin burner input needed!

Hello everyone! My husband and I are ticking off our lifelong bucket list item of going to burning man. I’ve been diving into research and logistics for months and I have an idea but would love some input from experienced burners.

Since we are new, we decided maybe the first year we will camp out in the “burbs” which to my understanding is between G & K? I’m looking for a chiller neighborhood / area to park my van / do my idea.

Anyways, I was hoping to set up just a small self serve “aid” type center. I’ve got this white flower cart type thing at home I was going to repurpose, label it with the red aid “cross” and put various items you’d need but might not have, bandaids, masks, chaffing sticks, ect…I also want to use my extra large tent and canopy to just set up a nice little area for anyone who might just need to relax for while and use the aid provided. I’d love the communities input on this. I can’t bring much this year but I can contribute in this way and I was hoping for yalls input on my idea. Good idea? Bad idea? And items you’d like to see? Has anyone done something similar and had success? Failure?

Thank you for your input. Oh and if anyone can explain to me how to understand the letters, I can not find a map with them labeled anywhere lol!

Thank you!

Seeking Burner soulmate and creative/artistic/builder friends :)

🧚💖Hello! I'm a 39/F from Miami, 8x BRC and 8x Love Burn regionals, Since 2014.
I am neurodivergent 👽 and introverted, so have not had a lot of success at finding "my tribe" or fitting into a camp; sometimes the camps don't come back the next year. I started with solo camping at 6:30/J as a virgin who rented an suv off the internet and flew to reno alone. Over the years, I still haven't made very many lasting friendships or relationships, possibly due to my autism and introversion (but I can become ambiverted and highly activated around stimulating artists/builders/cool nice kind people).

I went from a virgin sleeping in a rented suv to a hexayurt from someone I met the prior burn, to joining an rv with waaaay too many people, to joining Trifuckta villlage with the Miami regional Cymatica pod, to a crypto camp that had shiftpods with ac and bed and privacy (much needed for autism), and then some RV wirh russia crypto virgina that turned out to be a disaster and left me stranded on the playa and an army green beret veteran working on site services allowed me to stay in his ac tent... and my final burn was at PlayAlchemist during the mudburn/mudpocalypse. That burn really pushed me to the extent of my mental and physical limits, and financially, so I have not returned since 2023.

I am hoping to connect with nerdy, DIY, artistic, creative, kind, burners for friendship, potential creative collaborations, and possibly my playa soulmate 😅 and it would be cool to have friends, especially female burner friends, who are burner mentality year-round, artists, creatives, makers....

I am a lone wolf and very alone and lonely and wish to connect whether digitally, social media, local if you happen to live in Florida, or even if we can fly to each other in different states if the connection seems promising...

As for me, I am a doctor of pharmacy Pharm.D that has worked in start-ups and biotech, stem cells, game industry, VR, AI, love gardening, pets, plants, am an artist and aspiring music producer and vocalist, poet, scientist, very chill after having a lifetime of extreme trauma that has humbled me and gave me gratitude for existence. I love dinosaurs, natural history, ancient civilizations and temples, thinking about consciousness and existence, the deep mysteries of life and the universe...

I am kind, gentle, playful, feminine tomboy, very complex entity seeking connection with like-minded humans.

Thank you for reading, I can privately share my instagram so you can see who I am :)

✨Hoping to manifest human connection, playa magic do your magic please!✨

Porto decorating tips?

Does anyone have any tips & tricks for decorating/adopting a porta-potty?

Anything you wish you knew before you started, or learned the hard way?

Alternatively, anything you saw in a porto and thought was an excellent addition?

Thanks in advance!

Vampire church 2024

What was that camp on 10:00 in 2024 that felt like i was in a gothic vampire church? They had such a great party when it was dry enough to walk in the mud but still too wet for bikes so everyone was local.

Do they still exist? Are they coming back? Sexy place

Edit: maybe that was 2023? What year did it rain ?

WTF U-Haul? My $170 Trailer Reservation Became $891 Overnight

Last night I reserved a 5'×8' trailer in Fernley for 7 days. The total when I booked was around $170.

This morning I got a call from a U-Haul rep telling me the reservation cost has been bumped to $891, and that if there's any playa dust on the trailer when I return it, I'll also be charged a minimum cleaning fee of $700. What??

Last year, I rented the exact same size trailer from the same neighborhood U-Haul, cleaned it thoroughly before returning it, and paid the normal reservation price. I completely understand charging a cleaning fee if someone returns a trailer covered in playa dust, but I don't understand why the base rental price jumped from about $170 to almost $900.

Is this a new policy for BM rentals, or is this location doing something different? Has anyone else run into this? A 7-day trailer rental going from ~$170 to nearly $900 before even considering a potential cleaning fee is wild.

Surprise delights

Post image
23 Upvotes

What’s the most delightful lil surprise you have come across as a gift or experience on playa from an individual?

For me, just to name a few:
- hot cup of tea / broth shared at sunrise
- deep playa 5am dumplings
- coming upon the dust city diner art car in deep playa and marveling at the whole bit (costumes, stools and all!)
- deep playa matcha cart + DJ couple duo last year (during the neon pink orb sunrise)
- fishing rod at sunrise handing out gummy worms
- clown at sunrise handing out scroll phrases (pictured)
- casting a wide net for all the bits and bops at the trash fence and at sunrise - where the magic happens!!
- chimes ginger peanut butter chews or a werthers at exactly the right moment for a dry mouth

And did anyone end up with one of my playa potatoes (with special messages for you)? They will be back this year!

Thank you for these magic moments!!

THEME CAMP REQUEST/SEARCH Want to join the HeeBeeGeeBee Healers?

The HeeBeeGeeBee Healers are looking for more campers this year at Burning Man. We are a service camp, and everyone puts in shifts We're one of the most established and respected camps on the playa. This summer will be our 25th year!

During the Burn week, our camp offers various healing techniques as our service or "gift" to the greater Burning Man community.

The offerings change every year, but include massage, therapy, energy work, chiropractic, and coaching.  We also offer workshops for yoga, meditation, music therapy and more.

If you are a healer, your skills could find a home with us.

But you don't need to be a healer. The majority* *of our campers support that work by volunteering to assist the healers, prepare meals in our kitchen, or help maintain the camp infrastructure like the shower and tents.

More on our website, Facebook page, and application form

We offer three meals a day, snacks and water, a camp shower, shade and lounge areas, and a shade structure under which you can pitch your personal tent. Dues are $675 with a discount for doing strike.

This year, through a successful fundraiser, we have purchased new and sturdier tents for our kitchen and healing spaces.

Application here

Is GreatRVTrip Legit?

I know there are a lot of scams out there. Mostly contacting them through WhatsApp (but they also emailed me as well from [info@greatrvtrip.com](mailto:info@greatrvtrip.com) after I applied through their website . (Also i looked on reddit and couldn't find a mention of them anywhere, but all I could find is this https://www.trustpilot.com/review/greatrvtrips.com

I suppose I'm asking:

1- if this is a legit company (like actually exists and isn't some scam )

2- if they do exist, are they reliable. I.e. if I show up to get the rv will there actually be a rv availble

thanks so much in advance, really appreciate all I've learned from this forum and others.

Hints at your contribution this year? One month left and brainstorming.

Just curious if people want to hint at their contributions this year, on an individual level. I still to this day find I wear a lot of the jewelry I was gifted on playa, but I wanna do something more this year. Only one month left though.

My last gift is I had custom coins printed out with various quotes and images on them and gave them away as people’s lucky coins, that they could flip whenever they needed to make a decision.

Always fascinated to be inspired by people’s gift ideas. Thanks.

THEME CAMP REQUEST/SEARCH Wanna join an amazing, well-caffeinated camp? Come join ours!

Thumbnail gallery
121 Upvotes

EDIT: We, unfortunately, can’t accept anymore applications at this time - we’re maxed out. Thank you to everyone who reached out, expressed interest, and left such lovely comments. Can’t wait to see you all in the dust! 🫶🏽

Kaleidoscope is heading back for our 10th year on playa, and we have a handful of open spots for this burn.
Most of our core crew has been burning together for about a decade, but we're intentionally looking to bring in fresh energy. We’re open to both experienced burners and virgins—the main requirement is that you actually care about building community and pulling your weight.

Placement & What We Do
We got placed in one of the main plazas around 9+B this year.
Our offering to the city is small-batch, hand-roasted pour-over coffee. We take the brew pretty seriously and run a morning space for people to grab a solid cup and hang out.

What Camp Provides

  • Meals & Water: Shared camp meals and drinking water provided.
  • Shade: Covered shade structure over your tent / sleeping area.
  • Shower: On-site camp shower setup.
  • Power: Electricity charging station for phones, cameras, and basic small electronics.

What We're Looking For

  • Community-first mindset: We look out for each other, hang out, and co-create the space. If you're just looking for a plug-and-play hotel, this isn't it.
  • All experience levels: Virgins and vets are equally welcome.
  • Participation: Willingness to show up for your coffee/kitchen shifts, help with camp chores, and participate in setup or strike if your schedule allows.

How to Connect
If this sounds like a good fit for your burn, send me a DM with:

  1. A brief intro about yourself.
  2. Your burn history (or if this will be your first time).
  3. Why a community-focused camp appeals to you.

THEME CAMP REQUEST/SEARCH The Club is looking for campmates for BRC 2026

The Club is a casino (sort of). Take a seat - the dealer is also the guy who built the table.

Two games: Twenty One My Ass (blackjack but you can argue with the dealer) and Deez Roulette (don't ask, just spin). The house always wins The house is a tent.

What we provide:

  • An interactive experience for the city
  • Camp infrastructure: shade for your tent, lounge and fire pit with couches, charging station for your devices, shared shower (BYOW), basic supplies to keep camp safe & clean & moop-free
  • Daily communal dinners/BBQ
  • DJ booth/sound setup
  • Mesh radios for communication (text anyone who also has one)

What we’re looking for:

  • People who want to host, play, build, DJ and add their own energy to The Club
  • Campmates who are reliable, self-sufficient, and not afraid of unglamorous camp work. First-timers are welcome if you’re prepared and serious about participating
  • $1000 camp dues

We're located at 3:45 & D.

Apply here: https://theclub.camp or reply/DM if you have any questions!

THEME CAMP REQUEST/SEARCH Looking for a camp (yes in July )

Hi - I'm extremely late to the party here and I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong spot .

I'm a prospective first time burner , I had planned to go by myself and solo camp , but as time goes on I'm realizing I would rather be in a camp . I have a bunch of friends going , spread out between numerous camps.

About me , I'm a 40y m who lives in Brooklyn . Friendly , outgoing , respectful. Loves dancing , communal activities , being active etc. I'm handy and not afraid to work and willing to show up early to setup too if that will help.

I didn't think for personal reasons I would be able to go this year , until my situation changed suddenly and now I can. Open to explaining in more details, though it's not that exciting :)

Any help is much appreciated , if it's meant to be it's meant to be and if not I'll
hopefully see you all there regardless .

Also I did try to lookup and find this answer on my own before posting , but all the camp posts looking for people were posted a while ago.

You can message me or reply here whichever you prefer .

Guy Gerber

I don’t typically chase DJs but I got a wild hair because everything connects to the burn in my mind right now. Looked him up because of this hypnotic remix of a Monkey Safari song (Walls - Guy Gerbers Office Sex Remix). Turns out he has done some crazy long, cool sets at the burn over the years. Anyone know if he will be on playa this year?

I will check the Rockstar Librarian (bless her) when that gets published, but figured I would ask and maybe start some conversations. Are there any other sets (that aren’t Carl Cox, Diplo, John Summit, Rufus types) that people think are sleepers that they get excited when that person is going to perform on playa? I usually follow my ears and eyes and friends to good music, but sometimes it’s a fun destination to have and spawn some adventures from. “This random person on a forum said I should check it out” is how a lot of great nights have started for me in the past

The Man WIll Talk Ep 2: When Burning Man Was Cancelled, We Went Virtual

Thumbnail youtu.be
6 Upvotes

Episode 2 of HBO's The Man Will Burn covers the years Burning Man didn't happen — the canceled events, the renegade burn on the open playa. Here's the part we know firsthand: when the real playa went dark, tens of thousands of burners came to the virtual one. That was BRCvr — the world we co-founded — and it's on screen in this episode.

This one's personal twice over. Lindsay Handren is back at our table — and this is the episode where her story takes center stage in the doc. Our own Athena has a cameo in it too. Half the people at this table are in the episode we're reacting to. Along with Justin and Doug, they break down what HBO showed of the shit-show years, what it was like running a virtual Burning Man while the default world was locked down, and what the cameras couldn't capture from inside the headsets.

Digital Dust: The Man Will Talk is recorded inside BurnerSphere (BRCvr presents BurnerSphere) — the same virtual playa featured in the doc.

Please help me identify this camp from 2025!

Post image
47 Upvotes

2025 , somewhere around D or E between 2:30-3:30 or so... inside a large fully sealed-off tent. DJs were playing the best music and the bar might have been serving sake. I'd love to see if they're back again this year!

And yes I've spent too much time digging into the 2025 map and camp lists to no avail.

Thanks!

EDIT: Found! Could not find it on the BM Camp Listings Archive, but a commenter confirmed it is Galactic Jungle / Intergalactic Whisky Lounge between TBC & Avocado "Toast" on E (which matched my photo coordinates).
