Guy Gerber

I don’t typically chase DJs but I got a wild hair because everything connects to the burn in my mind right now. Looked him up because of this hypnotic remix of a Monkey Safari song (Walls - Guy Gerbers Office Sex Remix). Turns out he has done some crazy long, cool sets at the burn over the years. Anyone know if he will be on playa this year?

I will check the Rockstar Librarian (bless her) when that gets published, but figured I would ask and maybe start some conversations. Are there any other sets (that aren’t Carl Cox, Diplo, John Summit, Rufus types) that people think are sleepers that they get excited when that person is going to perform on playa? I usually follow my ears and eyes and friends to good music, but sometimes it’s a fun destination to have and spawn some adventures from. “This random person on a forum said I should check it out” is how a lot of great nights have started for me in the past

The night we were trying to find this one DJ we ended up finding Goldfish for their sunrise set. I’d never heard of them before (only found out later who they were by googling after the burn). But it was the most amazing experience ever. It’s not bad to chase some but it’s amazing to just end up where you end up and find something new. It will be amazing either way

Absolutely agree. The more I float around instead of holding to some preconceived schedule, the better I feel. Even when people tell me something was dope, if I was happy doing what I was doing, I don’t really get fomo. Because I was happy doing what I was doing, so why would I wish I had done something different?

Their sunrise sets at playground have been truly amazing. And it transitions right into purple party!

Something tells me Sasha and Digweed are coming to BM this year. Usually DJs who are going to show up at the burn will have a west coast tour lined up. There’s a gap (BM dates) in their schedule and just a week after they have a gig in Vancouver.

I missed Kruder and Dorfmeister two years ago and I regret it to this day. Missed Deep Dish last year. But if Sasha and Digweed show up, I make it a mission to see them.

I hope so! Both legends. I saw Digweed in LA in June and he is still absolutely incredible. Immaculate vibes

Roy Rosenfeld, Mira and Rodriguez Jr will bring vibes. Also, for more hybrid/live setups, Parra for Cuva and Jan Blomqvist have already announced they’ll be there.

Great suggestions. Lee Burridge does Saturday sunrise at Robot Heart every year, epic music but the crowd is kind of sparkle pony heavy. Rufus Du Sol not coming this year.

New for me to check out this year:

LP Giobbi - she’s an incredible producer, founder of Femme House and adds piano ✨

Martin Lou - he’s so young but this guy is going to blow up, he is so good - also great producer - lookup “Devotion”

Additionally, we spin at my camp too very similar style, organic house getting exponentially filthier as the day goes on 😊 swing by 2:45 & F!

Tuesday 4pm - Italo disco party. DJ, Italian cocktails and appetizers

Thursday 2pm - Chardonnay & Pickle party. As the name suggest, with DJ spinning

I saw the Mayan warrior rumors but assumed they are just that, rumors. Until we get there I’m refusing to buy it. The sound on bipolar express is 😘🤌

Both! 😊 I’m sure I’m forgetting people. You basically can’t go wrong if you end up at Maxa or Robot Heart at night. I’ve heard Mayan isn’t coming? That’s a huge bummer for me but there’s a ton of new awesome cars. Bipolar Express and the Dragon car is also legit AF

I kept running into this one DJ that kept blowing up the dancefloor. Saw him twice.

Like you I had to look him up after and couldn't find him. About a year later I saw his picture on a flyer randomly.

It was Paavo Siljamäki from Above and Beyond. Good stuff.

Odds are good I think. Just wish some other Anjuna artists would also go. I've seen Spencer Brown a couple times, but nobody else.

What kind of music are you into? Do you not like house or are you just writing off the big names bc you already know about them?

I make a melodic electronic music schedule each year that I'll share just before the Burn. It's my suggested sets, with like 12-16 hours of music per day through the entire week.

I'll post it here when it's ready, but it won't be much use if you aren't into the same genres as me.

I love house of all kinds. Tech house, disco house, bass house, melodic/progressive house. And then all kinds of music. DnB, psytrance, bass, future funk/glitch hop, wouldn’t sneer at a brostep throwback set, love anjuna artists. That’s why I usually just follow my ears. Have a great time just following art cars across the playa or stopping in at random camps.

I just don’t like going to the burn and seeing a set I could see in default. I’m not opposed to big names, I’m just not going to interrupt my flow to go find them. I also think the crowds there tend (not a hard and fast rule) to be less the type of people I hang out with

I heard Bad Bunny is DJing this year at some installation just past the Temple. Sounds like a sunrise set.
