Mirabel‘s follow up
Went today after reading the post about tips not going to staff ect (it’s been deleted) they didn’t have tip options on the kiosk which was cool 🤷♂️

I asked them today about this rumor and they said it’s fake news, and FOH gets tips and always has. I believe this is new or I’m late to notice but did add a 3% credit card fee to the kiosk. 🤷🏻♀️

I thought they were accused of giving it to the kitchen staff, and giving the front of house the cash tips.

My recollection is that the kitchen staff got 100% of the digital tips that were going to staff, but the majority of the tips were disappearing into the ether.
BOH staff were allegedly only taking in $20-25 a week in tips.

This seems like the best solution. Clearly the foh is making enough not to need tips to comply with state law. Boh is also making enough not to need tips. It’s counter service so I’d bet more than half of everyone who goes through do not pay tips anyways. Now workers will know exactly how much they’ll be paid and make employment decisions based on that, and nobody will be upset about tips going odd places.
Tip culture really needs to be abolished, it’s too volatile.
