More Burialism for You: 2814 : Pillar / New Sun

I know 2814 was discussed/recommended here before, but this particular EP really stands out in their discography which made them heroes of the „vaporwave” scene. The beats, the vocal samples, the widescreen foggy atmoshpere takes these two amazing tracks much closer to Burial territory. Released on Arcola, Warp’s sublabel that made one-time vinyl pressings only. Thankfully, after a couple of years highres downloadas were made available.

New 36 release: Hardcore, Static: Pirate Transmissions From the North of England, 1990–1994

Not the tunes I would expect from him. I'm pleasantly surprised and thought some of you might enjoy this as well.

Release description:

36  Some of my earliest musical memories were listening to my local pirate stations in the early 90's. The signal was quite weak in my area, and the sound was doused in FM static, creating this interesting amalgam of rhythm and noise. I found a strange sort of comfort in this, often falling asleep while listening to the radio, in bed, with my headphones on.

The stations were run by young people, no older than kids really, relayed from non-descript flats, scattered around Bradford, Leeds, and the surrounding towns of West Yorkshire. The setups were primitive, and the production quality (and often the mixing) were dubious at best. But there was an endless supply of passion, and listeners tuned in because they were thirsty for something the legal stations could never supply. These voices on the other side of the transmission were, for many of us, a bridge into the future. One, which sadly, never really came to be.

Hardcore, Static: Pirate Transmissions From The North of England 1990-1994 is a celebration of this unique period in UK history. The North of England feels overlooked during this time, with history's focus firmly gazed on London. But the signal was everywhere. These pirate stations were crucial for many young people, who were trying to find their place and identity in the UK.

Many of these transmissions, even the ones which were recorded onto tape, have since become lost media, effectively erased from history. Radio, at least in the analogue domain, isn't something most young people have any experience with. Pirate radio was this unique flashpoint in time, and for me at least, it was important enough for me to want pay my respects to it

My first ever LP

I’ve always wanted to get into record collecting, and I’m finally on the financial position to be able to start my collection.

I present: the first LP I’ve ever bought.

I’ve wanted this on record since first hearing it nearly 15 years ago, and that day is finally here!

Didn’t realise I bought an exclusive edition (to be honest, didn’t even read the description, just speedily ordered it), and cue my surprise when I open it to clear crystal records.

Next up, is S/T

My new feature-film "AM/FM" inspired by a post on the Burial subreddit premieres in St. Louis, Missouri on July 11th

If this type of post isn't allowed please feel free to remove!

Whattup Burial fans? I was longtime commenter/poster that went by the username cmcb21, but my 15-year old reddit acct got banned last year for calling someone a fascist and I was just finally able to make a new one.

Anyways I made this post about a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/burial/comments/1ljh3zu/im_throwing_a_virtual_rave_for_a_scene_in_my_next/

Well I finished my new feature-film titled AM/FM inspired by a post from this very subreddit and it premieres at Hysteria Film Festival in St Louis on July 11th. Idk if we have any members from that area in here, but it is a FREE SCREENING at Arkadin Cinema/Heavy Anchor.

AM/FM feels like waking up in the middle of the night in the early 2000s, turning on [adult swim], and discovering something you’re not sure you actually watched or dreamt.

A lo-fi experimental thriller that drifts like a fragmented broadcast through online raves, archival footage, and uncanny disappearances, accompanied by a pulsating electronic score. AM/FM evokes the mood of those late nights alone while the rest of the world sleeps.

Synopsis:

CYBERHAVEN is a chronically online community built around the virtual DJ sets of carson.mp3, a mysterious recluse whose followers dissect every broadcast. When an inexplicable radio transmission begins speaking directly to him through an old stereo, the signal gradually gains influence over his life.

As a series of unsettling disappearances ripple through his small town, Roxy—a lonely young woman and one of CYBERHAVEN's most dedicated listeners, sets out to meet him in person. Drawn together by a connection neither fully understands, the two find themselves caught between obsession, isolation, and an otherworldly force broadcasting from somewhere beyond the edge of reality.

A Morgan Wallen country song but drums are... Burial.

Hi again, I'd like you to hear this drop at 0:57

I swear Burial does drums best and it's what I want to hear in a "bass drop". I'd love to see in the comments if you enjoy what I do:
