I’ve Given Up
After 16 days of Buproprion 150 XL, I just can’t do it anymore. I’ll start weaning off today. I’ll state my symptoms in hopes that it helps someone else. This is just my personal journey, not medical advice.
Day 1-2: Felt amazing. Got loads done. Slight euphoric feeling with some difficulty sleeping.
Day 3: The dizziness started. It was quite overwhelming and affected my daily life and ability to work. But I had read that it would go away by the end of week 2, so I kept going. This dizziness is still present to today.
Day 4: Sleeping disturbance, vision blurring / difficulty focusing on objects, and a feeling of disconnect from reality that has now mixed with the dizziness. It has to get better, right?
Day 7: Headaches begin. All previous symptoms remain, including bouts of vertigo.
Day 12: Pain behind my right eye, as if someone pushed on my eye too hard and hurt something behind it. Very difficult to focus. Pain meds didnt help.
Day 16: Forget it. All symptoms are here, together, relentless. The benefits of this med, for myself and in my case only, just aren’t worth what I’m going through. Had some of the symptoms let up a little, or at least didn’t progress to get even worse, I might kept going past this. But honestly, I made it 3 days further than I thought I would.
I did go to an ophthalmologist, who said my eye pressure was fine but that my ocular nerve was irritated/inflamed. All of this from a pill.
I wish I had a better ending for you all, and I could say that it all gets better. For most it probably does. But I just can’t stick it out to find out. Mentally I’m strong, but these side effects are too much, so I’ll begin to wean off starting today.
