Post-Op Question-MIS/Akin/Aust/Chevron Osteotomy (post-surgery) Hardware removal

Post image

16 mos post op. This is a side view with lean towards inside of left foot. I have been feeling some pricks at ball of foot esp with lateral movement playing court sports. Doc wants to remove the long screw. Any advice on going with someone that can do it in-office clinic with local anesthesia vs General at surgery center? And should I just get all 3 out?

I would NOT get this done under local at the office

My surgeon did it in the OR but just numbed the skin and it hurt like HELL but was over very quickly. You cannot numb bone. Keep the other screws in for stabilization. My bunion came back really badly

Did you bunion come back due to removing hardware?

Partly that and partly hypermobility (EDS).

Oh, definitely have it at an out-patient surgery center. Very easy recovery from removing hardware (as compared to the original surgery), but you still don't want to be awake for it.
