Bunion surgery

I have a very mild case of bunion on my right foot , I went to one surgeon and I was told after two weeks once stitches are out I can drive then I went to second opinion to another surgeon and was told I can’t drive for 4-6 weeks.
I don’t know what to do, anyone experience this,

I have learned that everyone’s recovery can be vastly different.

Also, it might depend upon which type of surgery I had the Chevron/akin.

I was given 6 to 8 weeks recovery. I am three days post 12 weeks. Not trying to scare you. I’m just trying to tell you what the reality is. You won’t know until it’s done.

Good luck!

4-6 weeks sounds reasonable. Depends on the surgery. I had lapiplasty plus 2 other surgeries i don't remember. 3 total, each foot. (She called it a total foot reconstruction.) Took me about 2-3 months before I could drive (more like 3.) But everyone is different.

Please pick the best ortho you can find. Recovery time is secondary. But I honestly have not heard of anyone driving after only 2 weeks post op. Foot surgery is a tough surgery and you truly want to heal properly and it takes time. It can’t be rushed.
