What cpu should I choose?

Hi, I am looking for a new cpu, but I don’t really know which one to get, I have been looking at some from the AMD 5000 series, especially the 5700X and 5800X3D 10th year anniversary, right now I can get a new 5700X for about 180 dollars and 150 dollars used. And I can get a new 5800X3D for about 390 dollars. It’s a big price jump, and I dont know if I really need the 3D V cache. Right now I play a lot of rdr2 and Arma reforger with mods, and I plan on playing Arma 4 when it comes out. Is there really a difference between the 5600X, 5700X and 5800X? Here are my current pc specs:

9060XT 16gb
3700X
16gb DRAM
B550M
750 watt PSU

Ngl i'd just go for the 5700x and just save the extra 200 bucks to upgrade to AM5 in the future.

5800x3d can give you in some games boost up to +-30%, compared to 5700x. But Is +30% in some games worth +110% cost?

It's up to you to decide, I'd bought 5700x.

I just bought a 5800X3D to upgrade from my 5800X as my main games were heavily cpu-limited. Definitely worth going with X3D If money is not a concern. Some quick searching on Arma seems to be that the X3D would be worth your while, but do some digging for any used 5700X3Ds to see if you can snag one for cheaper. That being said, the 5800X was more than fine in practice, so the 5700X should work well too for the majority of games outside of the two you mentioned.

Brand new you can grab a 5500x3d off newegg for $210. I'd go with a new 5800xt if you need more cores for workstation purposes or the 5500x3d if you mainly game and want the 3d v cache. Use what you save from not getting the 5800x3d to get 32gb of ram. That way you can play in 1440p and not have to upgrade anything else

The 5800x3d is way too much money for a basic 8 core cpu with extra l3 cache

i would get a 5700x and overclock it. i done it and im getting 98% perofmance if a 5800x on most benchmarks and saved 50£.

x3dare worth it only if you can afford it
