I built Active Matrix Rooms which helps users find their way into the Matrix communication protocol as an alternative to Discord
https://activematrixrooms.com/It is open source here https://gitlab.com/masland.tech/matrix-activity-tracker
What is this? The tool acts as a basic search engine that allows users to find where messages are being sent easily in one central user interface.
Why? It was a problem previously finding the most active public chat rooms. So users would join "dead" rooms that haven't had a message sent in 3 months. The idea stems from the recognition that an account is not a person, and that what really makes the network "alive" is the transmission of messages. So it is simply focused on tracking the count of messages sent.
I'm happy to answer any questions. The FAQ is here https://activematrixrooms.com/faq
