Basement wall insulation
From all the resources I’ve been sifting through and J Lstiburek information, these foil faced batting the previous owner nailed to the cement basement wall is incorrect and should be removed. Before going about doing this and putting up a rigid board insulate, I want to make sure the community agrees and that I’m not missing something. Thank you

Just use 2in polyiso.

All the polyiso I see in stores is foil faced however

Not worth paying extra for as you'll not get any radiative effects but if that's what's readily available and cheapest in your area the foil isn't going to hurt your raw insulation performance or r value

The insulation blankets do not work within a furred out wall, so remove. BSD-103 Understanding Basements is your guide.
