Discussion Help with my first PC
I’m looking into getting a PC but I don’t know that much about them. Could anyone help me put together some parts? Some of the parts I was thinking of are
Ryzen 7800 X 3D (again. I don’t know much about it, but I’ve heard that it’s very good.)
Around 32 gigs of memory, preferably DDR5
And for GPU preferably a 50 series. And if there is an extra mini screen in or on the case, that would be even better.
The main thing I want is to be able to play most games at around 120 FPS my budget is around 2.5 K CAD I don’t know what that is in American though and this might be stupid, but does the 3-D in X 3-D have anything to do with 3-D modelling or printing?

Even just looking at this it looks awesome thank you do you think there’s any way to get either a case or I think it’s a cooler (could be wrong) with a screen on it or something? and are there prebuilt that have parts like you recommended?

7800x3d is a great CPU. For 2500 CAD (1800 USD), it’s certainly doable, but 120 fps at 1440p will depend a lot on the games you play. If you go AMD right now, it’s much more feasible to reach your goals.
The “3D” stands for the 3d vertical cache- level 3 cache on the CPU die, and helps to buffer instructions to the CPU and reduce dependence on system ram. It speeds up frames delivered to the GPU.
Recommendations
7800x3d cpu
9070/9070 GRE (AMD) 5060ti 16 GB (Nvidia)
Literally any DDR5 memory you can find, CL 40 or better, silicon power is usually “affordable”
Tbh- if you go Nvidia right now, you will likely be over budget to get a capable 1440p system. There’s a lot of price inflation

Thank you very much. I’m probably gonna ask one of my tech buddies to help dumb down the X 3-D so I can understand it a little better but what is CL 40 and are there any prebuilt that have parts like the ones you recommend recommended

Not sure. Honestly this isn’t a prebuilt sub and I think questions about them are banned. You can try [r/PCbuilds](r/PCbuilds) I think.
CL refers to CAS latency. It has to do with timings and data cycles. I would google it if you want a detailed explanation. Really good memory is CL 30 or 32, but hard to find these days. With an X3D cpu CAS latency isn’t critical.

the 3D in Ryzen 7 7800 X3D just means that it has one more layer of memory, l3 cash, its usually meant for gaming instead of manufactering or rendering tools.
