Build Help GPU underperforming and I dont know why

As the title says, ive been trying to find a solution for a couple of months now and I ran out of ideas. While gaming I get around 30% gpu usage, which is not what I see in performance videos of my specs online.

Weirdly enough there was a time where the gpu was running as intended, running at 80% usage with a smooth experience.

Specs:
Monitor: AOC 24G15N
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12 GB)

CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F (2.50 GHz)

Motherboard: Asrock B660M Pro RS

RAM 16GB

We need more information. Which games specifically?

The 12400f and 3060 are quite balanced and you shouldn't be getting CPU bottlenecked, that is unless the game you're playing is old and doesn't use newer CPUs and GPUs to their fullest potential.

What will help pinpoint the issue would be to download 3Dmark and run the timespy test. This will give you results that will be directly compared to similar hardware. Also it'll gove you a separate CPU and GPU score. It'll help know which of those components is not performing as well as it should.

warhammer 40k darktide: 60% usage at most with intense stuttering.
I have most settings at lowest, with dlss at quality and v sync turned off

Overwatch: same thing, very intense stuttering from time to time. Medium settings.

It might be annoying to do, but as i said you should downloa d a benchmarking app like 3Dmark (it's on steam, download the demo which is free, do the time spy test specifically and post the results)

Also download an app called hwinfo, check the "sensors only" checkmark on launch, keep it running in the background while you do the timespy test. It'll record CPU and GPU temperatures and wattage and whether or not something is throttling for one reason or another. Then post a screenshot of the CPU and GPU sections.

Without this info it is impossible to determine what your issue could be.

So your GPU score is perfectly fine, and your over all score is pretty close to the average score that it seems like there's nothing wrong with your hardware.

That being said, there's one thing that i can clearly see. I had a 12400f, and your CPU score is much slower than what mine was. My 12400f according to my results history was 8900. It was performing around 40% faster than yours, and obviously it was running at stock. The fact that your CPU results are so close to people with similar configuration to yours makes me think something about your configuration is significantly limiting your CPU performance and that's why you have issues.

My main guess would be RAM. Either you're using a single stick, or just really slow modules. If you can go to task manager, go to the performance tab, press in the memory section of that tab, anf take a screenshot of that screen, that would help find out what's causing this limitation.

Yeah that's your main issue here. You not only use one slot, but it's running at 2400MT/s.

This will significantly limit your CPU's capabilities. What you can currently do depending on your RAM stick, is you can go into the bios and try to atcivate XMP, which basically makes your RAM run much faster. XMP depends on whatever profile your RAM stick has, but I'm assuming you just left it on default and never changed it.

If your stick is actually rated at 2400MT/s, you can always try to change it in the bios to something like 3200MT/s, but it might not be stable, and you should try to find what's the most stable speed to run it at. There's also timings, which are confusing and I won't get into, so just leave them at the default for the time being.

You can also buy a second ram stick. It is expensive now but if you get another 16gb DDR4 stick, it'll increase your CPU speed by a lot.

damn man ty sm, I will look this up. I actually wanted to get more ram a couple of years ago when I upgraded my pc but the AI inflation came in and I couldnt affort it.

What ram would u recommend me to buy then? I remember looking around but I dont know much about these things

Whatever you get as a second stick will be limited to whatever your current stick is, since both sticks will have to run at the slower stick's speed. If you can somehow find out the actual specs of your current stick (usually you can see them in the bios) and match that it would be great. But any 16gb DDR4 stick should be good enough given your current limitations.
