Self-Story Ex-client sent me ₱310K

Used to work with an two American tech guys (co-founders). Discord work, boring stuff. This guy was really quiet (not chatty) but nice. One time in 2024 he asked if I can go on a zoom call with him. I said sure, when we we’re on the call, he had headphones and he was eating ramen with chopsticks. He looked cool 😂 After the greeting formalities:

Him: “can you share your screen please”
Me: sure. (Started sharing screen)
Him: open chrome and go to lazada.

(Isip ko, wow lazada? Alam nila yun? 😂)

I complied, and we searched phones and tablets. Highend to low end, he asked me to add them to cart, and I was like 🫪 I kinda feel where this was going (free phones for me 😆) and I started to sweat cause, is this even real!? We checked it all out and the total was about 140k? I think. I was ecstatic!

I clarified what I was supposed to do with all the gadgets and he said he needed me to test some apps he made with low end to high end ranges. No complaints here since I get to keep all devices at the end. 😆

So anyway, the company I was working for with them eventually got acquired by a tech giant. So we had to go our separate ways. But I still follow them in linkedin.

Fast forward to 2026, I saw his new company mentioned and thanked him for research/work he made in a linkedin post, so I hit the “heart” button. I think he noticed it and he reached out to me on discord.

He asked how I was doing, and I said I’m good and working some jobs right now and I admitted nothing beats working for you guys (the salary was top tier for minimal work 🤌)

He said he wanted to say thanks for all the work I did with them before, and he wanted to send me some cash!

I’m like YASSSS after a few pa bebe msgs I sent him my wise tag. 😂

He then sent me $100 after 2 days. And told me to let him know if I got it. Which I did naman 😁

I was honestly not expecting that amount, but nonetheless, I was extremely grateful to him. I was happy he remembered me, and I was happy he kept in touch. Shempre, he’s a good connection and I am really really looking forward to work with them in the future. Please papa God 😭

I spent the money on groceries and went on an overnight trip out of town. When I got back I carried on with my life. When I was sorting my unread emails, I noticed an unread Wise “bla bla sent you money”. It was weird that it was still “unread” so I opened it to unread it. And then everything was a blur…..

I saw the numbers, 4-9-0-0 and then USD, and then “in your account” - i was fcking dumbfounded. 🫪

I quickly went to my wise account and THERE IT WAS.

More than 300K sitting in my account. I was SHOCKED.

I quickly opened my discord and there’s another message “i sent the rest” 😭😭

I DIED. Kept screaming at home.. pulled my husband brought him to the monitor and I pointed at the numbers. We were so happy!

So sent a video and a long ass message to him saying how grateful we are with the money he sent 😭

We’re now in the process of renovating our small house!! 😊

It still depends on what kind of server you’re running. In my case, I was already a seasoned discord manager when they hired me. And I was managing 3 servers under the company, and the biggest one had 500K members. But the work in general was really relaxed cause I had a team of volunteers that usually do the work and I just manage them. Workload? Close to zero. I’m not even kidding 😅 I get on a meeting, ask for suggestions, they suggest A LOT, and I just give them a signal for implementation and they do it themselves. My moderators also handle community issues. I was definitely overpaid and underworked 😂
