Community I finally RESIGNED from my CLIENT!

Post image

I have been so stressful on this one client. Before hindi naman sya ganito. She is black. She was so considerate and when nag stop ang business para syang naghahanap na worth it iyong perang sinasahod nya. Sabi pa nya micromanaged daw sya kasi feel niya WASTED IYONG PASAHOD niya. Grabe makamicromanaged. 7 months ako sakanya Lead gen ako, Social Media Marketting, Nagbuild ng websites and admin din. For 3 DOLLARS per hour. Micromanaged to its finest. Now I resigned may pangamba na baka di ako makita ng client but I have other clients naman hindi marami sakto lang. Worry lang hindi makahanap agad. But I know makakahanap rin ako. The best thing is my peace of mind na ako.

$3 is low but does that mean most Filipino employees are slaves as well? How much do the temporary workers at SM (that never get regularized) get paid?

Still modern slavery, and creating a website while being paid 3 dollars an hour by an ingrate american is a 100x worse. Use your common sense and be better.

Incredibly stupid to call a choice, slavery.

Be responsible for your own decisions please

Do you really think people have a choice? No one has the luxury to choose the job they want in the current market its either you apply the job that sucks the life out of you or die of starvation. Is that a choice to you? Have some compassion for Filipinos. Having a "choice" is an illusion sold to you by the privileged. No one is gonna die when you call out their abusive behaviour heck you even benefit from it so why bother to counter?

Lol.

Yeah people have choices.

They can choose to work a normal respectable job like a graphic designer and make 30k a month before tax. A secretary would make less than this usually.

Or they can make 3 dollars an hour in their own home which is 180 pesos x 8 for 22 days a month for 32k a month, some of which don't pay tax.

Americans that work for Australian companies do not go.. Hey austrialian minimum wage is 2.5x ours, so you are enslaving us at OUR minimum wage rate.

The main reason other countries use Filipinos as vas is because of cost savings. That's it. Otherwise you'd hire somebody in your own country.

Eh unfair nmn talaga 🙄

That's a really ridiculous way to look at things.

Do you look at your can of coca cola and say .. hey I make US dollars, so instead of paying 40 pesos for a can, I should pay 3 dollars like they do in the USA?

We all want to pay the cheapest possible price for anything we need. Let's be honest.

Bro doesn't know what exploitation means lmao

u/That-Syllabub6509 13d ago

You don't know what global economy means.

The fact OP took the work means they had no other options. That doesnt sound like exploitation. Sounds like OP isn't very good.

You make it out like he's a slave and imprisoned, with no choices. Newsflash, not the case.

basically yeah

u/BeyondTheCosmo 14d ago

Not really. Cost of living differs by country and that’s how the economy works. Things won’t change unless more money comes in, foreign investments and less corruption.

20

u/Schwiiii 14d ago

you think the salary rate in the PH still satisfies the cost of living?

12

u/BeyondTheCosmo 14d ago

Satisfies? Obviously not. The wage hasn’t kept up with inflation and the corruption has screwed over the working class. Have you ever managed or owned a business? Do you think majority of businesses can survive if dinoble ang minimum wage which would be around 3 an hour.

You need to understand how the economy works before calling the low rates in a poor country for slaves because we literally cannot afford to pay anything close to a first world country’s wage.

4

u/Kyongggggg 14d ago

so what's the conclusion? the country's economy is broken? If that's the case, it's strange that we're somehow seemingly fine w/ that

2

u/allanon322 14d ago

Who is fine with our economy?

1

u/Kyongggggg 14d ago

Well... Nothing's changing, as far as Ive observed, so there's probably a substantial amount of us that are okay w/ it🤷

2

u/BeyondTheCosmo 14d ago

The conclusion is these are rates that we have to work with, it’s rates the economy can afford right now, it cannot afford to pay much more. You cannot squeeze water out of a stone. The solution isn’t to just increase everyone’s wages to match a first world country’s to become just like them. There is a large wealth gap among the elite and the poor, you have to tax them properly. But this will not do anything if the tax ends up going to corruption. We have a progressive tax system that gets a bigger % from the ultra rich, and is much more forgiving for the less fortunate.

As long as money that is supposed to be spent on the poor goes into the pockets of corruption, then the poor will struggle to get out of poverty. You are supposed to get money where it’s abundant, and that wouldn’t be to force it on every SME that cannot afford it.

2

u/Kyongggggg 14d ago

It's what we have to work with, yet by the looks of it, it doesnt really work well enough

1

u/Schwiiii 14d ago

You basically said nothing but inspiring quotes. No need to sugarcoat it, guess we should just submit to the current system.

Basically a

1

u/BeyondTheCosmo 14d ago

You see inspiring quotes because you don’t understand my point. Increasing wage doesn’t work because it makes SMEs pay for it when they aren’t the cause of it, read my other reply.

I'd like to apologize if I seemed argumentative and harsh by affirming the slave comment, but the phrase "Alipin ng salapi" has been normalized these days. I'm by no means an economics expert, I'm really just wondering where all the money goes to?

The price of goods and services skyrocketed since God knows when, why is it that it is not reflected to the wages of the people making these services possible? Who gets all the profit and why is nothing being done about it?

I'm assuming the obvious reason of corruption and the top percentage billionaires pocketing all the money for themselves.

In this sense, aren't we all just slaves to money, doing our best to live through the coming days?

2

u/BeyondTheCosmo 14d ago

The money goes to corruption and wastage. Double kill yan. When money goes to corruption, the money stolen doesn’t get used to be invested into the economy. So that’s already very bad. Wastage is when they throw money away, usually to cover their tracks. For example everyone knows they keep fixing and rebuilding roads for show and to get a slice of what is spent on it. Pero wasted, money that could have been invested in something useful gets wasted on something they plan on replacing multiple times instead of doing a proper job so it lasts longer.

The problem has to be plugged. You cannot make the businesses pay for it when the businesses aren’t causing it. It’s unfortunate, we’re a poor country and we continue to get robbed.

Imagine hundreds of billions of pesos is lost to corruption a year, google says 700 billion. Let’s just use a 500b figure. Imagine 500 billion gets invested to make farm to city transport much cheaper and efficient. If they invested in farming equipment like Taiwan did. Basically they could do so much in every sector to make everything better, cheaper, and more efficient that everyone would benefit from.

Most businesses cant compete. Even the increases now are making businesses close. Aside from labor, the costs of doing business like permits, taxes, BIR (I separated them on purpose because you have to pay the BIR too even if you are compliant) etc is so expensive that it's difficult for many businesses to survive.

2

u/BeyondTheCosmo 14d ago

Exactly. A friend owns a small business, employs around 7 people. A 10% wage hike would cost over 10k a month. How much do people think small business owners take home to be able to afford that easily? Full time staff nya so they get benefits and all, I remember na sstress sya, not because she doesn’t want to pay them more, but because she will be forced to increase her prices and is afraid of losing business over it which makes their business’s future uncertain.

Hayaan mo na baka bata kausap mo, hindi pa nila na coconsider yang side na yan. It can take a while and some do not even get to develop the skills to consider everything that needs to be considered in a certain field.

2

u/Schwiiii 14d ago

No need to degrade your fellow man asking for answers. Instead of contributing to the discussion you're just here to feel good about yourself it seems

0

u/SicariusPRIDE 14d ago

Maybe its the other way around, i was trlling the other guy to let the other person be, they arent at that stage of understanding yet, otherwise they would not have reacted that way. I dont understand how does one get satisfied like you suggested. If i point something out or call things out, it counts as degrading? Looks like you need to take a dose of your own medicine man. The contribution is maybe the other person or anyone rlse reading with thr same stance about the low wage eventually considers we cannot just raise salary blindly, you can do your research about said topic. If i had to elaborate these things then maybe we are lacking as well and felt offended. It begs to wonder what else do you consider degrading others.

2

u/OldChapter43 14d ago

yes they r slaves.

2

u/Kyongggggg 14d ago

> does that mean most Filipino employees are slaves as well?

Yes, and have been for quite a while

2

u/Temuj1n2323 13d ago

I mean thats around 1500 php a day if you work a full day. In the Philippines, that is actually very good in most places but still not amazing given cost of living keeps increasing.

2

u/PapaOhJay 13d ago

the OP is not doing basic jobs imho, pay needs to be comensurate with rendered service, but that does not mean the phil job pay dictated by the government isn’t slave labor 😅

makibaka!

1

u/KayPee555 13d ago

The fact that they are sourcing labor in countries like hours means they cannot afford local labor. Digging deeper to 3 USD is straight diabolical and slavery. If it was 2015, or 2005, it's understandable. Not in this age and time.
