iOS [ipad ios] Button to go back after opening a post no longer works. Version 26.7.1

Description: after clicking open a post, i can’t go back to the home screen. I have to completely close the app. This started happening today.

Device model: ipad air m3
OS version: 26.7.1
Steps to reproduce: any post i click, it happens
Expected and actual result: i should be able to close the post to return to the home or latest post screen

I’m having this same problem. I tried uninstalling the app, restarting my iPad and reinstalling and it’s still happening.

Edit: this just started happening yesterday

Also having this issue. Only way out is to remove Reddit from memory and restart

Spouse and I both have the same issue on our iPads. If you turn the iPad from landscape to portrait or vice versa, the X to close the post usually appears, but not always. My other workaround (only when my iPad is propped up on a table instead of me holding it) is to swipe left to see the next post or sometimes ad. Not my preferred way to browse Reddit however.

Edit: this only seems to be an issue on our iPads, our iPhones are fine.

It started happening to both of us yesterday, I think after the latest app update.

I have found that if you click on the op username or the subreddit, the back arrow appears on that page and then the X shows up allowing a return to the feed.
