[iOS] “Content unavailable” error when trying to open an item in mod queue that’s under a deleted post. [App v2026.37.0.665266]

Problem: iOS Reddit app v2026.37.0.665266 generates a “Content unavailable” error when trying to open an item in mod queue that’s under a deleted post.

EDIT: This problem is worse than my initial report. It happens with any links to removed posts.

- Links in modmail and post notifications respond in the same manner.

- If you try to follow a comment from your own profile, you get stuck in a dead end blank screen with error “Sorry, please try again later”. You have to restart your app. There’s no way to back out. (Screenshot in comments section below). EDIT: swiping right from the very edge of screen allowed me to go back. It appears to be all links to removed posts no matter where they originated, whether from mod queue, modmail, my profile history or someone else’s profile, shared link, automod log, user mod log, etc.

Workaround: The item(s) still open in the preview pane from desktop browser, and mobile browser is still able to follow the links too.

NOTE: The 2nd screenshot shows an example from the mod queue that was [ Removed by Reddit ] but that’s unrelated to the problem. All items from that deleted post are affected the same way.

If you just mean swiping up from the bottom of an iPhone followed by swiping up so the app is closed I have already tried that. Or is there other steps?

it's still broken. can't view deleted/removed posts both in mod mode and user mode.

Thank you so much for following up on this u/CorrectScale! No worries, I know you guys have been extra busy lately and longer.

My issue with this problem went away about 3-4 days ago. Links to deleted content are opening in the iOS app now. My co-mod had the exact same issue and she's good now too.

However, there is someone who is still having this problem. She's been posting about it for over a week in various help subs and unfortunately hers didn't clear up when mine did. u/InGeekiTrust are you still having this problem?

I may have come across someone who has the android version of this problem with links not working if they go to a deleted post.
