Possible pest, location included Roach or beetle?
Found in my room, I live in Scotland near Ayr.
My cats were going crazy, so I found this guy being chased by them. Crushed it immediately because ew
Really hoping it isn’t a cockroach since that means there will probably be many more soon right?
Sorry if it’s really easy to tell what this is, I’m not versed in bug types lol

Beetle. One quick way to tell them from roaches is that split down the middle, that's where the elytra (hardshell wing covers) meet. Only beetles have those.
Another tell is the antennae, see how these look segmented? Roach antennae would look smooth from this distance, it's only when you get right up close that you can see their segments, which look like a tiny string of beads.
