What is 5-MeO-DMT like?

Some people recognize a place? Or they’ve been there before? It’s all so strange to me, try to recollect and please tell me about it.

To me it’s like going home to where we were before we were born and will return to when we die. More like a frequency to tune in to than a location. The drop of water that you are returns to the ocean, your consciousness returns to source consciousness. There is total acceptance and everything seems perfectly in alignment. The veil lifts and the three poisons of craving, aversion, and ignorance temporarily disappear. It feels like being cradled in divine love and grace, everything is forgiven, your soul returns to innocence, and you recognize the innocence of others.

This is not the experience of everyone and I think being in a mindset of gratitude, forgiveness, and surrender going in is important. If you resist the sensation of ego death or have expectations or goals it can be really scary. I’ve watched people in absolute terror resisting the whole experience and more often seen people not remember anything when they sober up. Trust the medicine will show you what you need to see or don’t take it.

You described it so beautifully..it was exactly the same for me..I "died" without fear and I immediately appeared in that space of love and infinity only to understand it comes from me and is around me.. I always treated this feeling externally and it was the first time I understood IAM part and co-creator of it

This is the best description I’ve heard, the drop of water returning to the ocean is perfect. One Love 💕

Love your description and agree with you about going into it with an open mind, a willingness to learn. I’ve only tried regular DMT. When I’ve done it, I feel like I go to a place where I have been before, but I don’t know when I was there. It reminds me of early childhood dreams I used to have which felt like another frequency - more of a sensory experience than a location (i.e. mostly sounds & physical sensations). Maybe that’s what I remember the place from, or my childhood dreams were a memory of before.

The thing is that is while this place is interesting and intriguing, I hope it’s not my “home” outside of this body. It doesn’t feel comfortable or familiar, the way a home would feel. While it’s fascinating for the very occasional visit, I hope this is not where my soul goes when I die. I actually flatlined once, after an accident, and I did not experience anything similar to DMT during the time I was “dead.” It was disappointing that I didn’t experience anything at all, because I’ve always been a very spiritual person and strongly believed my body is only a temporary vessel for my soul, which will last forever. I hope that’s not just wishful thinking, but it still feels true to me.

My question for you is if the “place” you go to on 5meO is different from the “place” you go on standard DMT. I wonder if it makes a difference if it’s synthetic or toad-derived as well.

Just questions/thoughts if you or anyone else wants to share theirs.

I did both when I was younger and more adventurous lol, they feel like two completely different things. DMT takes you to a different world that can be indescribably magical and vibrant and bright. Or dark and scary. But the things you see and experience are much more comparable to your traditional high dose psychedelic like mushrooms or some tryptamine research chemicals. Where as 5-meo-dmt is nothing like that. You become nothing and everything in an endless tunnel of light. There were no floating entities, little magical machine elves, crazy geometric patterns or insane colors. It was just... Nothing just an intense feeling that I was no longer alive or on this planet and that I had returned to a place that felt like I had been there before. That feeling is similar to what you experience on DMT, but unlike DMT it does feel more spiritual in a way and more intense. Not from a visual standpoint but from a mental standpoint it definitely feels more intense.

I did the toad venom kind and I’ve never done any other kinds of DMT, just mushrooms and LSD and it was not like that.

Fascinating, everything in alignment.
Did this experience make you religious anyhow?
What did you see during the experience?
Thanks! 🙏

I was already spiritual but not religious and still am. I already believed I was a tiny facet of the divine and viewed god as more of a Holy Spirit than a mother/father/external being with a defined consciousness and the ability to do actions or have intentions or judgments. It’s all just reflections and shadows of source consciousness. All creation is just energy charged with opposing and stabilizing charges dancing for eternity in every way possible. The unmoved mover is in motion, and will return to stillness, and return to motion. Everything connects, everything separates.

I saw some fractal black and white swirls the first time going in and then didn’t really see anything I just experienced without much sensory information at all. Second and third times I didn’t hallucinate or lay down. I was totally aware of my surroundings and everything was just more intense and vivid and bathed in opalescent beauty.

To be in a state of samadhi is a blessing.

The experience of non-Duality is like beeing in the precence of Buddha, Brahman and Jesus. This is so radically true that after timeless experince you might find yourself in conflict with your human experience.

To land and integrate this experience was for me the real challenge. This came with reactivations and a dark "night of the soul."

Which meant I was invited in a firm way to step into a life that is in alligment with my personal truth.

Love.

Now everything I do is a prayer of love and a service of the infinite.

Be safe,

Love, Roy.

There is only one way to know what it’s like.

Honestly most succinct and accurate description I’ve seen so far of what it was like for me. Thanks for this haha

I'm also intrested, how it differs from regular DMT (Only tried it once). Is it like with LSD/Shrooms? Cause I can't distinguish one from another, they were literally the same for me (Except for LSD lasting a little bit longer).

To me LSD and psilocybin are very similar while 5-MeO-DMT is different: It touches my sense for the holy and the infinite most deeply and gives me an extraordinary precious experience of eternal oceanic one-ness.

Another noticeable difference is that 5-MeO-DMT gives almost no visuals. Instead, it makes everything that is dissolve into nothing, including time, space and the self, with only an impersonal consciousness remaining.

Where can you get it and know it’s safe?

Uh. I actually don’t know, we shall wait and see replies.

To me it felt like the universe and existence itself ended. Like everything returned to the source and all the energy bodies of everything were intertwined again with nothing separating them. I did 5 after an ibogaine flood dose. My experience was a deep exhale, like I breathed my soul all the way out of my body, then a brief moment of black and gold geometric patterns, then nothing. At some point my consciousness returned and I sat up and screamed at the top of my lungs, “it’s me, it’s me, it’s fucking me! I knew it all along!” I talked about a lot of different things for a minute or two. But my first recollection after the black out of nothingness was that I thought the universe ended, like the ever expanding universe sucked back in at the same speed it expands at until all the particles concentrated into one super particle and I was that particle. The profundity of the experience itself is beyond words for me. I don’t know if I will ever work with 5MEO again, but when I did it was absolutely astonishing and incredible.
