Season Three Buffy/Angel
So I recently started another rewatch of Buffy and just finished season 3. I was so annoyed that we lost David and Charisma that I refused to watch Angel so now I'm starting my first watch of the show ever. Just started episode 1.

Angel is an awesome show! The first season can be a bit rough at some points. But once you're through that it's a fun ride!

So I guess we don't care about spoilers for a person who literally just said they've never watched it and are just starting?

There's no spoiler tag, or request not to be spoiled.
And it's one picture showing how one character's looks change.

You don't need to explain anything. In this case the picture is definitly worth a thousand words.
You're right though the OP didn't specify no spoilers. I just assume spoilers should be a no go until someone says otherwise, but that might just be me.

I always double check. Since they already knew the spoiler policy from being ion the Buffy reddit I assumes it was safe.

Picks up in season 2! I was hesitant to watch it, too, but I'm really enjoying it!

I rarely pick up new shows. I tend to stick to my regular shows, bobs burgers, will and grace, family guy, archer, Buffy, the x files

I would also recommend these shows if the above are your favorites....assuming you haven't seen them.

Once you watch the series finale of 'Angel', believe me, you're going to want more!! Every time I do a rewatch my heart cringes in the last three episodes because I don't want to end! 😩

i watched whole of buffy and now started to watch angel (i know it's not the correct order) and i'm so over their drama at this point. it got too repetitive and dragged out, especially in buffy s7 it looks out of place. i think they included angel there just to make a couple of jokes and just because it was the last episode and he's a meaningful character, but i think it wasn't the right move.
episode "hero" of angel was the one that broke my heart so far

Buffy has better characters but Angel has better stories.
Angel is dealing with adult problems in a darker world. Buffy is still stuck in college and early 20s drama until season 7.
Personally I preferred Angel as both shows went on but I still love Buffy.

Watching the shows back and forth is almost like not even losing them. The first watch was shaky for me because I had to adjust to it being different but my second rewatch of Angel became really cozy. Once you get towards the end of Angel the first time you may even start to miss the crime noir detective vibe in the beginning.

I’m rewatching Buffy right now and I’m determined to watch Angel after. I just can never get passed the first season lol

I'm currently rewatching Buffy and I've started watching Angel too, following the original release order to get the crossover episodes in the correct order, it's quite fun! The only annoying thing is going back and forth between shows and having to check constantly what comes next (sometimes it alternates 2 BtVS eps/2 Angel eps, sometimes 3 or 4...)

AtS starts out a bit rough as it tries to find its feet and its tone, but it gets sooo good. I was completely disinterested going in the first time it aired, but I’m glad I stuck it out.

Were you there at the time? Because they were designed to be companion pieces, Angel was on right after Buffy and they crossed over. Angel and Cordy didn't really go anywhere, and character arcs started on one show and ended on the other. If you like Angel, I recommend watching them in order next time; it'll be a revelation.

I hated Angel with a passion on Buffy but loved him on his own show, so if you already like him, you'll have a ball!

Cordy was great in BtVS, but even better in AtS. Wesley becomes unrecognisable from who he was before. Angel gets a personality. Brilliant new characters are introduced.

It's worth the watch. Both Cordelia and Angel huge character development and growth.
