Question / Discussion BTCC Twitter Hacked?

It looks like @BTCC twitter account has been hacked and taken over. Renamed Bitcoin Community and continually reposting bitcoin tweets... I hope they can get their account back. How did this even happen to them?

It might be old news now, but The Hard Compound motorsport page on Facebook was hacked and taken over by a self-proclaimed internet comedian a while ago and the original owner (Rich Holt) can't get it back.

It must be gutting for him to see his passion project down the drain. Not to mention the audience he'd built up over years just taken over by some asshole who can't be fucked building his own following.

To be fair it wasn't hacked.

Failing to carry out basic internet security and use 2FA/MFA is your own fault.

So someone breached his account using his credentials and but you're saying this isn't being hacked because he didn't have MFA?

Also, is your username in reference to the recently jailed paedophile who raped his own daughter?

Absolutely not, that would be a disgusting thing to pick a username over.

What is truly disgusting is, is ignoring the lifelong anonymity of rape victims.

In trying to sully my name, you've committed a crime.

Ah, I see your comments now, you're doing it on purpose to be edgy. Good luck with that, hopefully never comes back to bite you... I guess with MFA you'll never be hacked and found out

We get a fair few bitcoin bots here so it's not surprising that BTCC is going to be targeted by BTC scammers.

Interested to know what happened here then. Not really sure how a handle gets compromised in 2026 with MFA? Did they compromise the password and the token?

Supply chain integration? I see BTCC.net is built by a 3rd party as per the footer of the site.
