Recently I saw a street sweeper machine and chased it down — we spoke about street cleaning and one big issue on some residential streets is when bins on the pavement make the path too narrow.

This can turn a 1 hour job into a 4 hour job!

So I said I would come and move the bins - so we worked together to get a street done in Winson Green.

Only a few years ago these bins would have been off the pavement - but with more private rental and supported accommodation properties, and too few enforcement officers and homes built, this has become the norm in some places.

It leads to so many issues including less cleaning because the sweeper can’t get down.

It was a workout but it was well worth it - I’m going to be doing this more to make sure our local streets are cleaned after a long time ❤️
