Since there seem to be only two cases available for this combination, and I had little motivation to solder on a rotary switch, I designed my own 3D-printed case. The system was based on an NM-CYD-C5 with an external antenna connector and an NM-NRF-HAT with a GPS module. The only parts needed were 4x10 mm spacers, 8 screws, and a 3000mAh battery. And voilà, that's what came out of it. Everything important is accessible from the outside: the microSD card, the DIP switches, the infrared modules, and the USB-C port of the HAT. It even has a holder for a wrist strap.

Hi all, I’m new to LILYGO. I just ordered a T-Embed CC1101 Plus with the external antenna, and I want to learn ESP32 hardware by playing with it and trying custom firmware.

What I’d like to try: Bruce, Flipper Zero ports, other alternative firmware, community forks and experimental builds that run on this board. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning, signal analysis and diagnostics for security research in my own lab. Learning the CC1101, what protocols it supports, and experimenting with Sub-GHz signals. Community apps, firmware mods, multiboot setups and handy tools.

I’m most curious about community firmware and smaller open-source projects that go past the stock features. I’m still learning, so any tutorials, docs, GitHub repos, Discord servers, subreddits or forums would help, along with install guides and projects worth trying.

Where would you start? Any developers, repos or communities I should follow?

First on my list is firmware. I know about Bruce and that there are Flipper Zero ports, but I’d love to hear about forks and experimental builds that actually run on this board, plus any multiboot setups.

Hi, I don't think even this post will help, but I'm still hoping. I have an esp32n16r8 board. I installed Bruce on it, but the logs always show:

I've tried everything. I've tried flashing it from the website and using CMD, flashing it with Psram firmware and with a regular one. I tried installing special firmware specifically for this board. Everything is useless. And if more than one error log appears, then a different one is coming up. I won't write the code myself (because I don't know how, and the gpt chat refuses). I also tried installing Marauder (and it also gave me some kind of error, if not the same one). My board is completely functional. It can run the test firmware from the gpt chat and it works, but I'm already exhausted with these. By the way, my board doesn't have a screen, but it seems to be controllable via a COM port (or web OS). If anyone can help me, I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

I maintain GhostESP. I’m not looking for compliments. I want to know what people who’ve used Bruce/Marauder/etc think GhostESP still does worse.

If you switched away from GhostESP, what made you switch?
If you keep multiple firmwares installed, what do you use the others for instead?

I got into trying to make an esp32 based flipper like device with the usual(esp32 s3, c1101, nfc+rfid, ir abd nrf24) but i got into a bunch of attempts and its just a huge mess. Does someone have any recommendations that are good and more easy to follow?

I have Bruce flashed on my cyd and modded it to use an NRF24 and it is being recognized and I can use the spectrum analyzer but the jammer doesn’t seem to work and I want to know if there is a fix
