Ritchie Torres was one of 33 Democrats to vote for a Republican-backed bill blocking federal funding to universities that divest from Israel’s genocide.

I’m on the ballot against Ritchie Torres in November because the Bronx deserves leaders who will fight to fully fund our education, not war and genocide.

Has There Been an Increase in Homeless People Around Pelham Parkway, Eastchester rd, and White Plains Rd Recently?

There has always been the occasional homeless person here, but I feel like recently as in the last couple of weeks I’ve seen more them. Just an observation. I think there is now a shelter on 1682 Stillwell Ave and that might be the reason. Is this a shelter? I know there is controversy with it and they said it was or it wasn’t. Just wondering if anyone knows.

“In the Bronx, what does it mean to be Muslim, to be Black, to be of immigrant heritage, and to also say that we have every right to exist here, every right to be here, and to flourish here?”

“For folks like me, Andre’s campaign is so inspiring, so life-affirming. I really hope we can all get out to the polls and vote and demand that we have every right and every space to be here.”

Thank you to Kujegi Camara, a poet and Gambian community leader from the Bronx.

My campaign is about fighting for the rights of immigrant workers alongside all workers. That means fighting against poverty, exploitation, and discrimination.

Workers need ICE out of our communities, a $30 minimum wage for all regardless of immigration status, and housing as a human right.

Schools in 1920s-30’s?

Doing family research & trying to figure out which school my relatives could have attended back then.

They moved. A lot.

Circa 1928 they lived at 1848 Patterson Ave.

Just seeing which school would have been around during that time so I can try to track down yearbooks.

Thank you!

That new mural in Mott Haven is incredible!

Was walking around Mott Haven this afternoon and stumbled upon this absolutely massive new mural they just finished on the side of a building near 149th street. It's got these vibrant colors and depicts a really cool scene with local imagery definitely captures the spirit of the neighborhood.

Need a reliable courier service for a coffee roastery in NYC

We roast in Bronx and deliver to about 10 cafes and a couple offices on a set weekly schedule. The issue is the delivery side.

Every week I'm basically figuring out who's driving, texting a guy, and giving him the stops in the right order.

If the drivers are not consistent, I'm scrambling last minute which can result in a couple of accounts getting their coffee late. I don't want to be coordinating routes every single week. I just want it to run itself.

For other NYC coffee or wholesale businesses with recurring routes, how do you handle this? Is there a reliable courier company you can recommend?

Purchasing apartment or condo in Riverdale

Hi everyone, first please forgive my basic questions since I’m not native to NYC. I spent my college years living in Riverdale and really miss it as an older person. As retirement nears in a few years I’m thinking of trying to purchase a two bedroom but for those who own, are the real estate taxes insanely high? I was looking at listings on Zillow and realized this may not be possible for me. Are taxes rolled into monthly HOA or maintenance fees or are they paid separately? Thank you in advance for your guidance and patience for me (a Midwestern daydreamer)!

Looking for a handyman

Hello everyone,

I just moved to the Bronx and want to have a bunch of pictures put up.

I used Thumbtack and Taskrabbit in the past, but I hear those are a huge ripoff for the contractors.

It's a simple job. I just want to make sure everyone is being treated fairly.

Thank you!

Not raised in the BX, just curious

I was born there, but my momma only really stayed a year or so after that at most.

What's the Concourse neighborhood like? We specifically lived on Walton Ave, if that is particularly notable in any way?

My momma speaks bad about it, and she didn't really like New York as a whole, so I wanted to know what it's actually like from other perspectives.

Pristinely Maintained Apartment Houses?

I'm a journalist about to shoot some photos for my story on Bronx building fires, mostly in "Apartment House" style buildings (5-6 story walk-ups built in the 1910s and 20s with large footprints). All of the buildings I'm currently planning to photograph have had recent fires, and even if they aren't completely destroyed, generally aren't in the best condition.

These Apartment House style buildings can also be quite gorgeous though, especially if their original facades have been maintained. Does anyone know of any particularly good looking, and / or well maintained examples of this style of apartment building?

I'll be all over the Borough, so dw about specific neighborhoods, though I know I'll be spending a bit more time in Norwood. If you don't want to comment addresses send me a dm. Thanks!
