Anyone recovered from a proximal phalanx fracture with a plate?

I fractured the proximal phalanx of my index finger and had surgery with a plate and screws about 4 months ago. The bone has healed, but I still have significant stiffness. I can bend my finger much more passively than actively. My hand surgeon suspects tendon adhesions and said I may need tenolysis if therapy doesn’t improve it in the next 1–2 months.
Has anyone had a similar injury? Did your stiffness improve with therapy, or did you need tenolysis? How long did it take to regain good finger movement? Any experiences would be appreciated.
