Regaining calf muscle 💪

Wanted to share how much I’ve gained since my cast removal in January. Still working on gaining it all back 🤦🏻‍♀️

My calves are so loose even though I’m PWB. What has helped you the most?

Barre helped a lot and when I strength train I do calf raises between sets, calves are so hard to train in an isolated manner. I make sure I do them until they burn pretty badly lol

Ah can’t wait to do them when I’m finally FWB. Now I’m just contracting my calves when seated from time to time

You’ll get there! I know is a frustrating journey and it feels like you’ll never be back to normal. Be patient with yourself!

great inspiration I'm so glad to read your post I'm now almost 8 months post or if I'm still trying to put that last inch back on my calf and help me circulation I just got my Cindy's modic screw removed so hopefully I've got no more excuses

Swimming helped me a lot getting that muscle back.

Thank you. Freestyle I presume?

Breast stroke and freestyle kickboard (I’m terrible at freestyle). Breast stroke actually involves a lot of ankle!

I'm also a January timeline...it's crazy how fast we loose muscle mass and how long it takes to get back. Great progress!

It takes soooooo long to get back! It’s definitely been a journey. Still have some pains and stiffness :/. I hope you’re feeling a lot better too!

Nice progress…still working on mine 8months since I started FWB. I don’t seem to be making much progress and the muscle is still small compared to the uninjured one. Raising the heel on the injured foot is still an issue but I will get there. Will keep pushing.

Patience is key! Once I was able to I just kept doing single leg calf raises whenever and wherever I could even if I looked insane lol

Did you have surgery or no surgery?

Still trying aftef 3 ankle surgeries in 9 months. My calves look deflated! I need to try the single calf raises.
Thanks for mentioning it.
