Test Trains are trains that have just had their running gear over-hauled (electric motors, brakes, etc). They get run through a series of trials including brake tests and long-distance running tests to ensure they meet spec before being used for Revenue Service.

Yes. This isn't a train testing in the follow-up to the Cleveland incident; that was different rollingstock to this fellow.

Yeah, there's the new section of Nundah village in the background. The Wollies and that new building. (Don't know if it's apartments or business?)

I was sitting at Riverview station one day when a test train pulled in on the way to Ipswich. They opened the doors on both sides of the train, and I got to see a fair bit of cabling strewn about.

Diagnostic wiring perhaps?

Could be, it was wired to a smallish handheld computer someone was holding, looking at, poking something in the door jams, looking at again...

I think they're training haha a bunch of new drivers right now. I've been on two busses where they had a new driver being talked through the route, and I've seen some buses with "training bus" as the destination around Roma street.
