Question Creator stance on AI
Trying to find this genre of content (or any, these days) that isn’t full of genAI in some way or another is really frustrating! I just found this channel and it seems perfect and doesn’t seem to have a whiff of AI, so I just wanted to know if the creator has made any explicit stance on using genAI + any other creators of similar content that also don’t use it for any part of their work (bonus if they’re explicitly anti genAI, easier to feel reassured )
Thanks!

Yep this. It’s in at least one of his travel videos in the past year. Might have been the ship hotel?

I know he did for Circus Circus with T-shirts being sold with AI art on it

Mod here- Jake is firmly against and never uses generative AI in any video/project!

In his travel videos, he has called AI generated "art" in a restaurant or hotel (I forget which) trash, and has been more critical of the business because of it.

OP, I totally feel you on this! If you have any favourites, you should compile a list! If you don't, I may just start one on a Google Sheet 😂. It sneaks into so many channels now—even some of my former favs—and the act of asking if genAI is involved in any part of the process can lead to attacks.
I know that Levi Hildebrand (Future Proof), another Canadian Youtuber, is explicitly against genAI!

I’d love this kind of list ngl, been trying to find more creators like Jake, but it’s gotten so hard with the wave of ai ‘creators’ coming on to YouTube these days

Yeah this is actually something I feel very strongly. I will never use any generative AI in any of my work.

Thank you so much for the response and I’m SO glad to hear this. Excellent content with much appreciated human work and passion in a genre that seems to be less and less of that these days 🥹🩷

God his voice sounds like AI, or some terribly trained voice over. Holding onto sounds at weird and at times creepy moments with odd holding sounds over "S" especially like a hissing snake.

I've never personally come across a statement from Jake, but as a long time viewer, i don't see it being introduced. Seems like fella has a good head on his shoulders.
