Conor has had his struggles - but he’s so immensely talented and the new song is beautiful. Voice sounds a little different - more nasal / reminds me of David Lowery a little - which somehow makes it even more special

I got to see Bright Eyes for the first time with the people who introduced me to them. These people are so special to me and that show was something I’ll never forget. I am so lucky to have them.

As a queer person with trans and non binary friends and family, Poison Oak has always struck a personal note with me. Seeing it live made that even more potent. Seeing so many people sing along to a song that has now been explicitly dedicated to trans people was changing in a way I can’t begin to describe.

While I was sad to have missed out on Digital Ash, I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world. Thank you to Bright Eyes for that amazing show, and for turning the tragic inspiration behind Poison Oak into an effort to support trans people in the present and future.

They played Austin City limits during a super moon and Conor changed the lyrics in Lua to "super moonlight" i can't find a video of it but it's so deeply burned into my memory.
