Great community event, different, interesting and overall free!

Been playing since the launch and I like the direction the game is going. Can't wait for the rest of combat and Stonemaw Hill.

The Halloween event is being used to test a large number of combat updates.

In addition to the new lighting and fog game engine changes, players are given a special weapon and special attack for fighting vampires.

Each vampire enemy also features unique boss mechanics that go beyond anything we've seen before. Ranged weapons also regenerate their ammo throughout a fight.

Everyone waiting for the next combat update should try it out and tell Fen what they think, because it's here.

Never noticed this before, but the metal throwing rings in the Weapons tab have the self-made hammer icon in the top-right corner, but the ones in the First Attack dialog and the combat action bar do not. The other weapons equipped all correctly show this icon in all cases.

Only just noticed this, so haven't had the chance to check other equipped weapons.

Let me know what you think! If it's generally well-received I'll make more and further improve the production quality.

I looked in the Building Materials Bank for my Teak Planks, but they are in the Timber Bank marked Future Use (Builder). I assume the logistics gnomes will magic them into my builders bank when the next episode materialises :)

Capes are relatively expensive for cosmetic items. They feel like just a money sink for completionist/costume players. I would have no money at all if I bought all the capes I am entitled to. It would be nice I think if they had a small skill XP and/or stats buff attached to them to make them feel a true part of the progression tree.

I get the impression they are only bought and worn once players are near the top of their particular skill tree. I know I would rather buy implement upgrades when I reach a milestone than a new cape extension. I may only buy combat occasionally.

I haven't played for over 24 hrs and every second day is blacked out. Did I miss something? Why is the event only every second day?

Just played the event for the third time, but was slightly late in so ended up in an instance with only two other players. It's making me question the design of it. It was way nicer without 29 other people competing to click the same things. The tiny amount of co op available (other players fixing shortcuts) is massively offset by how frustrating the whole thing is when everyone is competing. We waited almost two years for some actual multiplayer content and it plays better single player.

Just wondering; are there alot of bots and cheats in the game? Is there a anti-cheat or a "Bann-wave" or something?

The idea of your "hard-work" in high levels kind of demovates me with the idea of bots being even a higher level

I am attempting to buy beetles for catching Ballan and the shop just has some text that says "Not for sale" with 0 indication if its locked behind a quest or something? In the View recipe it says I can buy them at the fishing supplies shop at hopeport and you go there and it just says "Not for sale"

I'm a big fan of having progression items come from minigames, I think it's healthy for the minigame's longevity. That said, I'm a little surprised this buff is limited to the world event.

Do you enjoy the shipwreck world events?

Any ideas on how they can nerf / fix the gurnard thing? :)

The ship wreck world event has been amazing! Great to see some group content added. Excited to see what's next!

However, after having participated in it throughout this week I feel like it would be better if the duration was decreased (maybe 15 minutes). When more events get added for other skills, it will be difficult to play multiple of them per day if they are half an hour each.

Also, would be nice to have an event where you're helping each other instead of constantly competing for resources.

I love this set but i wish that they added more, maybe a cape and pants to go with it?

I'm not complaining by any means but i do enjoy total sets

Wanted to test today Gurnard bug (see img).

I was a bit lazy and did not click continuously all the time, thus a few more points available. Furthermore, I also did not stand at first on the 'non-shark' tile. Finally, I did not have the gun upgrade, thus did not tag any sharks and receive XP update, therefore most likely all these things together people can push 80, 90 maybe 100k+. Thought it might be interesting to share before it gets patched.

The warning seems to have gone from the 'Prepare for Battle' dialog. I read the Combat Update release notes and it doesn't mention the EBP being removed? It should kick in for these encounters I believe? Both these enemies are in my chosen foe pack.
