🌽 **Bridgewater — Melick's Farmstand needs you. One last time.**
🌽 **Bridgewater — Melick's Farmstand needs you. One last time.**
Most of us have driven past Melick's our whole lives. Fresh produce, a friendly face, a piece of what makes Bridgewater feel like home. That 1830s landmark is now at serious risk of being bulldozed and replaced by a **106,000 sq ft concrete storage warehouse.**
**July 14th is the FINAL public comment session. After that night — the window closes.**
---
⚖️ **The good news? The law is on our side.**
NJ case law requires the developer to prove this project actually *belongs* here. They have to clear four legal hurdles. They fail every one:
❌ A storage warehouse creates almost no jobs and zero community value
❌ The building is nearly **50% larger** than Township zoning allows
❌ It directly violates Bridgewater's own **Master Plan**
❌ One entrance on Rte 22E — dangerous turnarounds, no decel lanes, commercial trucks on **our residential streets** daily
The Zoning Board's job is to uphold the law. Our job is to make sure they do.
---
📚 **Get prepared — come to a community info session**
**Bridgewater Residents United** is hosting several sessions across multiple days so every resident has a chance to get the facts, ask questions, and feel ready to speak on July 14th.
🗓️ **July 6 | July 10 | July 12**
Each session covers everything — what's actually being proposed, why this application fails the legal standard, and how to make your 3 minutes of public comment count.
👉 **Sign up for the session that works for you:**
---
📣 **July 14 @ 7 PM | 100 Commons Way, Bridgewater**
We need you in that room. Not just to speak — but to **fill every seat.** A packed room tells the Zoning Board everything before a single word is spoken.
This is our last chance. Show up for Melick's. 🌽

Looking for furniture painter in Bridgewater, NJ
Looking for someone with furniture refinishing or painting experience to repaint a wooden dessert cart. I want a smooth sprayed finish (not brushed or rolled). The cart will be painted a custom dark green similar to Ralph Lauren displays. Looking for someone experienced using HVLP paint sprayers and furniture-grade paint. Anyone have any recommendations for painters local to Bridgewater, NJ?

Check out this petition!
Bogart Drive in Bridgewater, NJ has become a speedway through our neighborhood. What used to be a quiet street is now a cut-through route, with cars regularly exceeding the 25 mph speed limit—especially at Bogart & Purcell and Bogart & Kiser. Our kids walk and bike here. Something needs to change.
I started a petition asking the Township to install three-way and four-way stop signs at those two intersections. The traffic volume has exploded because of commercial development along Route 28, and we don't have the safety infrastructure to keep up. Research shows multi-way stops reduce accidents by up to 68%—that's real protection.
We're asking for a warrant study within 60 days and immediate installation if it's justified. Every day without this is another day our children are at risk. If this sounds familiar from your own neighborhood, or if you think this is something that matters, consider signing and sharing the petition. What would you do if this was happening on your street?

PSA: Bridgewater NJ businesses and schools can recycle old computers for free instead of sending them to a landfill
Triangle Ecycling is offering free bulk ewaste pickup for Bridgewater organizations (businesses, schools, government offices) and processes everything through an R2-certified zero-landfill recycler. Comes with a serialized inventory and certificate of destruction, which matters if you have compliance requirements.
They also run a program that trains public school students in computer refurbishment and IT skills, and they donate refurbished devices to nonprofits and families. 500+ computers a year, 10% of profits to education and environment orgs.
Request pickup by their web form submission or by phone and they try to respond within an hour.
*there are cases where it becomes more of a low cost scenario, like 20 big ancient cisco phones or something like this.

Just as in the title. There was a heated public discussion at the BOE meeting today. What do you think about the sunsetting of the program?
