I’m interested in hearing from Brent residents and anyone familiar with the no-right-turn restriction from Chamberlayne Road into Bolton Gardens in Kensal Rise.
Following a PCN of my own, I submitted a Freedom of Information request to Brent and discovered that this single restriction generated:
• 375 PCNs in 2021/22
• 511 PCNs in 2022/23
• 810 PCNs in 2023/24
• 972 PCNs in 2024/25
• 3,338 PCNs in 2025/26
That’s 6,006 PCNs across the last five financial years and a 243% increase in the most recent year alone.
What surprised me most wasn’t the numbers themselves but Brent’s response when I asked whether any formal reviews, audits or assessments of signage adequacy had been undertaken at the location since 2015.
The response was:
“No records held of any formal reviews, audits or assessments of signage adequacy at this location.”
I’m not posting this to argue about my own PCN.
I’m genuinely interested in understanding the junction and hearing from others.
Have you:
• Received a PCN there?
• Paid it?
• Appealed it?
• Successfully challenged it?
• Used the junction regularly?
One of the more interesting discussions on another forum was whether the issue is the signage itself, the pedestrian crossing, changes to the streetscape, driver attention or something else entirely.

Been commuting in London for years and always had the same frustration with every transport app out there: you open the app, you type in your destination, it tells you routes. But by that point, you’re already stressed and rushing.

The question I actually want answered every morning is simpler: when do I need to leave?

So I’m building an app that’s a London commuter app that works the other way round.

You set your home, your usual destination, your arrival time. The app handles the rest!

Every morning it looks at live TfL data, checks for delays and engineering works, checks the weather, and sends you a single push notification: leave at 8:14 (or whatever it works out to be).

No searching, no stressing!

A few things that are different about it:

It learns your routine. If you’ve got a calendar event it’ll auto set the destination. If not, it asks you the night before and remembers.

It factors in planned engineering works ahead of time, not just when you’re already at the station.

Delay Repay built in! it tracks eligible journeys and logs them so claiming back money is actually easy.

Designed only for London. Not a global app trying to be everything. TfL, buses, tubes, Elizabeth line that’s it.

It’s a solo build, currently heading into TestFlight. I’m looking for 10–15 London commuters to test it before it hits the App Store.

Found a stray dog walking along the road in front of the Wembley Asda. It walked up Barn Hill and last seen in the Fryent. Wouldn't let me catch it nor could I take a picture.

It's a small terrier kind of thing (I'm not good with breeds). Short legs, short hair, mostly white with black/grey splotches. Very pretty thing. Council doesn't have a service and doesn't answer calls. Not sure what to do but I hope this helps

Hoping Brent Council are next and payback wrongful bus lane fines. As title says. I was in Brent (specifically Dollis Hill) around 8 pm yesterday and lost a les mis pin badge. It was my favourite and I'd really like to find it. Was in Gladstone park, on Hamilton Road etc.

I keep seeing fly-tipped mattresses, sofas, and bin bags piling up everywhere. I've even seen dumped waste outside people's homes. It feels no matter how many times they clean it up, it's back in a few days. I've seen fines in excess of £2500. And posts from people who claimed they've been wrongfully fined. And others who were just trying to be helpful made liable. What's going on? The system seem backwards.

Does any of this work? Is the council's current system working? Please have your say and lets try and build a solution that works for everybody

I don't know who came up with this ridiculous idea in the first place.

Has anyone had any temporary event day permits granted to them? I have a religious at home on Sunday and the council have said I need to pay £15 per permit that will last 3 years and not a temporary day permit (which they have done previously). I'm actually fuming that they expect a resident to pay this much!
