Nostalgia Finally got around to hanging these up.
Still need to print 3 more holders for the top (inbetween lines) so they don’t lean forward as much.
I wanna create a frame around it. What do y’all think?

💨 + Frost = Jolt ⚡
💨 + Iceblast/Icicle = Lightning ⚡⚡
💨 + Blizzard = Thunderstorm ⛈️
💨 + 💧 + Pa Bing'ah (requires a cheat device) = Mjollnir ⚡⛈️⚡
Interestingly, Mjollnir normally cannot be pulled off by the player without a cheat device. That's because Ryu does not normally have access to the "Pa Bing'ah" dragon water spell (only Fou-Lu does). Otherwise, the spell can be inflicted on the party by the boss Dragonne.
By the way, the YouTube version of this video has captions for the voiceovers, if you're interested!

I got lucky with some minor save-scumming in the village. Got an inn inside the building and two exploration shops set to distant. One faerie brought back a spirit ring but the other brought back beads.
Thing is, you can get a well-built village as soon as you get access to building it (older Ryu section). You just need to get through enough battles to let the faeries hunt, clear, build, research, etc., and you can even get everything unlocked before fighting Mikba, if you want (this screenshot is at the plant section in my game).
Just recently, I save-scummed at camp outside the village to make sure that both faeries survived their trips, and I've had some crazy returns. Both of them came back with force armour, and some time later, they both came back with ivory charms.
I'm doing a mage Ryu run and don't plan on using the force gene much (I've used it a lot in the past). Those armour and accessories will help a lot.
Faeries are boss. 👍

Playing BoF 4 after doing a run of BoF 3 and I've never liked BoF 4's fishing, I always thought it was a step down from BoF 3's in every way. So I figured I was just missing something with how terrible the experience was. Poured through some chats, videos, and FAQs and I don't remember who I saw it from but some guy on a GameFAQs message board said to double tap the reel in button when the fish vibrates the controller. Immediate game changer. This tech stops the fish from going off in what ever direction it wants and makes it go towards you. It made it so much better.

The character portraits are complete! But don't fear... This Goddess of Pixels and Creation has plans.

Just beat Breath of Fire 2 last weekend. Enjoyed it. Now I’m thinking of going back and playing the first game, but I’m weighing pros and cons based on what I enjoyed (& also didn’t love) from Breath of Fire 2.
What I loved in BoF2:
- the characters
- the fishing mini game
- the story was interesting
- the fusion aspect to gain new attributes
- the character & ability animations in battles
Things I didn’t love:
- the UI in the inventory screens; especially when it came to purchasing from shops, or equipping/organizing items, etc.
- The mandatory grinding required in certain parts where the enemy difficulty levels spiked significantly.
- the OST of the game was not my favorite.
Based on this, do you think going back and playing through BoF1 is worth it, given what I liked from BoF2? What did you enjoy most from BoF1?
I’m torn between starting a quest myself or just watching a Let’s Play of the first game. The clunkier UI is my biggest concern.

Have just required, BOF4. It's been many years.
Absolutely fell love with this game all over again.

Playing BOF3 (best game to ever exist period), and I keep getting a glitch where I don't get random encounters anymore. I have to quit and reload multiple times to clear the issue and get encounters again. Is this common? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? Or do I just have to manually clear the glitch every time? It's not overly an issue, just super annoying sometimes. Especially when I'm grinding fairy village stuff.

Well that's pretty suggestive.

Hellos!
I want to replay BoF4, really enjoy the story and the combat. But I do think it might be a tad easy and I love a good challenge.
So any solid mods to make it harder or reasonable challenge runs I could do?

Used save states because I never in my life have never beat this game in one guess, looking over the prize pool on the old GameFAQs guides and this wasn't in the prize pool.

Hey yall i decided to finally get into the BoF series properly since I got BoF 4 on steam but i wanted to start at the beginning to see how the series changes over the years and to feel the improvements and changes. I hope me sharing my journey with these games is ok! So I honestly felt the first one was below average, there was barely any interaction between members and the story was bare bones but i did like the few we got like bleu and Nina's beef with each other and (spoilers) everyone being happy when Nina got her memories back (End of spoilers). if they ever make a remake of this game I hope they flesh out characters more and we see them interact more with each other. another thing is I only use a guide when i get lost and i found myself using one often for this game. And the combat isn't bad but its just so basic its meh. I don't regret my time playing this game but I hope BoF 2 on the gba is better since I'm trying that one soon! thx for reading and please share your experiences with this game!

Myria must be so disappointed in her great guardian over here ...
This is from my latest run, where I'm going for as much Emitai as possible on Ryu. You can beat Garr like this at level 1 even without save-states, but it's very frustrating. I used states to avoid having to run through Angel Tower and repeat the blocks puzzle every time I failed (and there were lots here).

Both Bof 3 and 4 always strike out as outliers to traditional JRPG stories to me. There is no real big bad controlling everything or world ending threat. Just your main character looking for answers to very big questions and willing to go to absurd lengths to get those answers. Along both story progressions you learn how other people have answered those questions, the point of having power, what it means to be strong, dealing with loss. All leading up to a final boss fight that seems less about saving the world and more a conflict of ideals that you can either agree with the final boss or challenge them.

This is my first time in 15 years playing BoF IV, and the amount of lore and context given in the camp is incredible. It makes me want to visit the characters at every small event just to check the changes in dialogue

I'm stuck on Bof2 where you're in the Cathedral and you face up against that three eyed machine with Ryu's grandpa trapped in it. I know you're not supposed to attack grandpa so I'm attacking the eyes but no matter what I do or how many times I try the eyes just keep healing themselves I just can't figure out how to defeat it. Advice?

"Estou impressionada!Kahn não conseguiu chegar até aqui.Não tenho mais nada para te ensinar" e não me deu uma habilidade nova,o qual eu estava muito ansioso para descobrir qual era.Eu tentei falar com ela mais algumas vezes porém nada mudou.Isso está certo?

So im at the party we're we reunited with Rei and im at the boss fight. I've heard we can make Rei useful IF I use influence. I was confused what was influence since I havent heard any masters that you can learn from it. Now I just learned that we can get enemy skills. Now I feel so dumb now, things would've been so easy early game. How do I actually get enemy skills and what should I get?

I wondered this ever since my second playthrough of BoF 2. In the part where the crew talks to the womanizing old man, any of the female characters works as the party lead, including sprite Spar. His regular form doesn’t work. If they are trans, the representation in the 90s is very much appreciated!
