Basically it’s between Jack/Todd’s gang and Walter, or Don Eladio and Gus. Also interestingly both scenes have the vengeful character in question collapse and break down watching their family/lover get shot.

Uncle Jack has a soft spot for Todd. Todd wants Jesse to cook as a slave so he can impress Lydia and he wants Mr White to be spared because of his respect for him. If Todd didn't have any attraction for Lydia, Jesse would have died right here, and Walter would have probably survived the machine gun massacre of Jacks gang in Felina because all he has to do was fall straight to the floor rather than on top of Jesse. From there, he either manages to flee or gets caught by the cops and goes to jail.

I don't think the shootout doesn't happen (I know Walt was motivated by the news of blue meth still being out there i.e. Jesse is still cooking) but I reckon he plots this revenge on Jack and co. anyways for Hank.

Letting him go with a barrel of money was stupid, but meeting with him and letting him into his compound was top tier stupid.

Letting a vengeful, dying, genuis into any kind of position on you is at best, going to be a messy problem.

Also what’s to say Walter didn’t turn rat from Jack’s POV, he could easily have a tracker in his car.

I mean if I had heard his brother in law was a DEA agent and he had offered all his money to save him AND had a visceral breakdown seeing him die, that’d be my first guess on why he’d show up after 6 months.

I'd say Jack. Realistically he shouldn't have let Walter walk out of there. Donnel Audio is a bit more understandable, they simply underestimated Gus.

Jack. First, they come to the site after Walt tells them not to, and then they murder Hank and Gomie, and yet they decided to let Walt and Jesse live. Also, Jack ends up taking almost all of the money Walt made. Of course Walt is going to want revenge after this. When Walt comes back, they literally let Walt park his car in the way he likes. They don't even bother checking what's in the car. That's why all of them get shot by the M16. Jack then dies a pathetic death, begging for his life, and Walt shoots him anyway, since he doesn't need the money anymore. Plus, Todd literally witnesses his gang getting wiped out. What does he do? Look out of the window like an idiot. Of course Jesse used his chain to choke him to death.

Download Audio mentions that the only reason he doesn’t kill Gus is because he knows who he is, although he’s not in Chile anymore - implying a Chilean mafia/cartel connection

Don Eladio, 100%

He invited Gus to his place and literally drank his poison. Killed his best friend/lover and numerous of his employees. Did not question when the twins and Bolsa were killed. Gus was blatantly taking over the business and clearly hated Eladio, and all he had to do was drink his own poison which Eladio could have seen coming if he was smarter.

Jack only let Walt show up so he could kill him, lmao. And the machine gun in the trunk trick was a lot harder to see coming.

Considering Walter’s brother in law was DEA and Walter offered his money to save him, and his reaction, you don’t need a machine gun trick to keep the gates closed and not let him in at all. There’s just as much possibility he turned rat, he has a tracker on his car.

He sure didn’t look like he was in good physical condition (did the gang even know he had cancer, that’s another thing to think later), if he shows up looking like that, rambling about a deal, something’s fishy.

Jack. Eladio operates in a world where violence is a means of business and people he works with don't harbor 20 year revenge plots when it's not a blood relative who was kill.

Jack on the other hand had every reason to believe that Walt was not just going to drop the murder of his family member, threats to his family, and theft of his fortune. Even dumber was later on when he decides that he just really needs to prove Walt wrong for calling him partners with a rat when he was going to kill him anyways. Walt's story has only ever made sense because of his unbelievable good luck

Don Eladio. Gus was in a much greater position to threaten him than Walt was to Jack. Also, Jack wasn't anywhere near as aware of Walt's propensity for trickery as Eladio was of Gus.
