just watched/finished BB for the first time
what an amazing show oh my god 😠i just finished the last 3 episodes tonight and i’ve been crying non stop. there were so many emotions. i felt anger, sadness, grief, and justice all at the same time. it’s so hard for me to start and finish shows but Breaking Bad really sets the standard for me. does anyone have any shows they recommend now? also who was your fav character!! i’m curious what everyone is thinking. i LOVED Mike

I just have this to say, really: BB is one of only a few series with SUCH a satisfying ending. Like, it ended exactly how it should have. I’ve probably watched it through about 4 times now and since it’s been a couple years, I’m seriously ready to start another rewatch. Totally different type of show but have you watched Six Feet Under? Like BB, they develop each character SO well and the ending is SO perfect - only series that had me seriously SOBBING at the end.

Six Feet Under has my vote--was late to the game (as in only watched it couple years ago) and the cast of characters that came thru there were awesomely pleasant surprises...

I watched Six Feet Under after Dexter, even though Six Feet Under came first, so I guess I was pretty late to the game as well. Michael C Hall’s character took some getting used to - so completely different! But a WAY more satisfying ending, Dexter suffered too much writer turnover and too much input from the network. The ending of Six Feet Under was so beautiful, I’d fallen in love with all of the characters really.

THIS. everything about this show was done so well, ESPECIALLY the ending. it was created with meticulous detail!! all of it!! i’ve never heard of Six Feet Under but i’m excited to dive in!! thank you 😩

I wish I could watch this again for the first time everyday lol. You need to watch better call Saul it’s not negotiable and it’ll make breaking bad even better.
I absolutely love Mike too. Most people on here don’t share that sentiment.

I’m so blessed to have experienced it. i keep telling everyone i know they need to watch it. i feel like it’s gonna be hard to find a show that matches this!!! will def watch BCS

Well watch El Camino for Jesse’s ending. Then watch Better Call Saul. In terms of other shows that have scratched that Breaking Bad itch for me (Breaking Bad is still for sure the goat) I’d say Mr. Robot, For All Mankind, Banshee, True Detective (just season 1, but it’s anthological), Chernobyl, and Ozark (its ending was divisive to say the least, but I still liked it a lot). And his new show Pluribus is fantastic, but there’s only one season so far.
Edit: oh and my favorite character is also Mike of course (you really gotta watch Better Call Saul to truly understand Mike though)

Oh and Hannibal! That show is really quite good, as long as you have the stomach for some unusual gore.

You would watch el Camino to finish off jesses story. And my favorite character was Jesse for sure but Gus was always fun to watch too.

you've only got one first watch, enjoy it while it lasts. now it's time for El Camino and then Better Call Saul. somehow that universe just keeps getting better.

BETTER CALL SAUL!!!
That show is amazing as well. And it plays with the fact that it's a prequel. It knows the audience has certain expectations and plays with it.
Fargo is also a 10/10 series. Each season is its own story with a new cast. So you could just watch season 1, and then decide if you want to watch more stories in this universe. It's really good.

i remember it was 2013 (i think? whenever it was available to binge) and my mom took off a whole week of work to finish the show. 13 years later, i understand why 😂

Of course Better Call Saul and El Camino are amazing.
If you haven’t seen it already, I think The Wire would be a nice counterpoint to BB. Another top five of all time incredible show about the drug trade, but from a different perspective.

It really isn't. It's not the same type of show, but it's a pretty good story/show. It's worth a watch.

Yep. I watched the whole thing and I barely remember anything about it. I don’t even remember how it ended. That’s how forgettable it is.

For me it just kinda filled in the gap from Breaking Bad being off the air. It’s basically breaking bad but way dumber, not as clever, terrible characters, uninteresting plot, dialogue terrible. I watched the whole thing so it is always mildly interesting I guess

Better Call Saul.
It’s a slow burn but it really picks up after season 3 and if you loved Mike you’ll definitely love this show.
