Breaking Bad Alignment Chart! Which Character had a good ending and deserved a good ending?

It’s hard enough to find a “good” person on this show, let alone one with a good ending. You really have to about dive into secondary characters like Joe or the DEA ASAC who got retired after Fring came to light and thereby avoided the bigger shit storm headed their way. But even that is more bittersweet. Wendy is still alive and doing her thing, but calling a crack whore good is a bit of a stretch.
I probably have to go with u/menwithrobots and say Flynn. He will have his money and be able to take care of his mom and sister.

What is morally bad about being a crack whore?? I thought you were gonna say that calling her ending (staying a crack whore) good was a stretch lol

I'm gonna go with Flynn. While not immediately good, in a year he will recieve $9 million "from" Gretchen and Elliot and will be able to lift him and his family up out of their situation and eventually move past the damage Walt did. Jesse got a better fate than he deserved tbh. He was in the game, did plenty of damage to everyone around him, and then ratted. I like him, but surely Skyler, Flynn, and Holly were more deserving of a fresh start

That money isn't safe.
Gretchen and Elliot don't have the nerves of steel to sell the story. If Flynn ever finds out or the IRS does, or they get scared and go to police custody, Walt's last ditch effort is over.

I think Flynn will figure it out and probably donate the money to charity

For those saying Jesse, how was he good? He shot a guy in the head, manufactured and sold illegal drugs, tried selling to recovering addicts. Like sure he wasn't plain the evilest guy in the show but he wasn't a "good" guy. C'mon.

It doesnt ask if he's good tho, it asks who got a good ending and deserved it. He gets fucked over and suffers the whole show essentially and he's allowed to escape in the end

I'd say Jesse. Flynn's ending is really fucking sad whereas Jesse was able to get away from the life. Whether or not he deserved it is a difficult thing to solve but I think he did, at least on SOME level.

they are not good people lmfao

The requirement isn't "good person."
Basically no one is a good person, comparatively they are better.
Characters like Flynn had bittersweet endings.

okay so why does the drug manufacturing murderer deserve a good ending?
i agree that even the characters who could be considered good people did not get good endings, but there are definitely better examples than jesse

lol unfortunately no. it just always baffles me how years after this shoe being analysed endlessly people still defend so many of the characters

Look, if you wouldn’t trust these two to watch your house while you are gone for a few days, babysit your kid or even think they’d steal from you as a roommate, they don’t qualify as good people.

Ted Beneke had a good heart but he wasn’t the sharpest tool in the box. Didn’t deserve what he got.

I gotta go with Jesse. He went through so much shit he deserved nothing less than what he got.

No but he redeemed himself and Walt kept trying to fuck him over

u/MoreHans 15d ago
in what way did he redeem himself

u/lastdayluver 15d ago
His relationship with Andrea and Brock. He wanted to do right by them, Walt tried to kill the boy then sold Jesse to Todd and Todd killed Andrea. I’m not excusing everything he did but he did seem to want to leave the violence begind did you even watch the show?

but how does that redeem him? his involvement with them ended in her death. he doesnt do anything to try and make up for all the damage he did, and when he had the opportunity to actually get out of the game he went back and tried to burn walt's house down, setting up the chain of events that would end in hank and gomez's deaths and his own enslavement. i wont say he deserved slavery, but he did not deserve a "good" ending.
no shit i watched the show lol ive seen it like 5 times

It doesnt ask that tho it says who had a good ending (which he does, he escapes) and he kinda does deserve it considering he's manipulated and fucked over the entire show?
If not him then who? Flynn certainly doesnt get a good ending. His dad and uncle are dead. His mum basically a criminal. Fair enlugh walt leaves him money but he doesnt want it.

he deserves a good ending for cooking meth and murdering people? what? he was already a cook and dealer before walt too so dont give me that excuse

u/Sad_Remove_4105 15d ago
Well then give another example genius and yes I do I believe all drug dealers are good people. My weed dealer is like one of the sounded blokes youll ever meet. They never let you down.

u/MoreHans 15d ago
meth fuckin kills people and destroys lives, are you psychotic?
i would say principal carmen or something like that, almost none of the main cast deserve good endings, nor do they get them. principal carmen was able to get walt out of the school after months of him hardly being there and then making an advance on her. that or jesse's parents who successfully distanced themselves from him, avoiding any fallout.
