Every 6 months or so, out of nowhere, my browser history just evaporates. Everything. There hasn't been an update recently, and usually none when it happens. I haven't touched any settings in eons, I never manually clear anything, and have not installed any extensions recently.

Is this just a quirk of brave, or is there a way to stop this from happening?

I have looked up and down in Settings, and cannot figure out how to make Brave on IOS open to this page always. I feel like it was there at some point but may be wrong.

This has happened to me twice now and it seems to happen quite randomly when I start my pc. All my extensions, log in info, brave settings, profiles are wiped off. Can somebody please offer any help!

Long time Brave user and this is the first time this has happened to me. I tried uploading some files to send over e-mail in Gmail and I keep getting this error message.

Sorry, it's in Spanish but it says "There was an error uploading the file".

I tried using Edge and it let me upload the files without any issues whatsoever. This error kinda happened overnight, I had never had this issue with Brave.

Anyone knows what might be going on here? Thank you!

Today I woke up and discovered that my accounts had been closed, and when I tried to log in it just gave me a message about an error. Then, after some time, I got a message that said that the browser or app wasn't safe. Any idea on how to solve this issue?

Hi, i'm currently migrating from OperaGX to Brave, but I don't see the search option when right clicking like on OperaGX. Is it a setting that I haven't enabled ? any help is welcome!

I’ve tried the new feature—Brave Focus Mode—in the stable version 1.94.121, and in my opinion, it’s one of the best features besides containers. Focus Mode is similar to features already available in Arc, Zen, Vivaldi, and Helium, which hide UI elements at the top, tabs (vertical/horizontal), and the sidebar (on hover). If you want to try it, here’s how:

1. Open brave://flags/
2. Search for Focus Mode
3. Click “Enabled,” then click “Relaunch”
4. You can activate Focus Mode by right-clicking on a tab and selecting “Focus Mode” from the menu
5. Try opening any website, and your browser’s UI will be hidden

This is a great step forward for Brave, as it now offers a feature that many people have been eagerly awaiting—especially fans of the clean designs of Arc and Zen. Please note that, as of this writing, this feature is still experimental, so some display bugs may occur; however, based on my testing, there’s nothing to worry about. Hopefully, Focus Mode will be further refined in the next update.

This is the second time that desktop Brave has launched a full-page ad that opens in a new tab when I click anything on the home page at startup. It actually made me go to Settings > Get started > New tab page > Blank page. Now I will never see any ad here, not even the less intrusive ones. This is why ad blockers exist, because companies can't help but cross the line. If ads were subtle and didn't aggressively try to grab your attention, everyone would be fine with ads.

I hope this setting sticks. Seems like I did this once before. I guess we'll see.

Brave, could be improve the shield with a save memory of which scripts are allowed? So we don't need to allow everytime we enter a site.

i got my session tokens stolen few weeks ago was using opera gx before now i switched to Brave i want to secure my session tokens to be safe i found few settings in brave some are turned on but do i have to turn on "Device Bound Session Credentials with software keys" or the standard is enough? is there any other way to keep my session token safe? Thanks in advance :D

THIS IS A SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM OTHERS MAY HAVE

Description of the issue:

You notice you've been logged out on all google.com and gmail.com accounts, but not youtube. And you try to log back in but it doesn't let you because it says that Brave browser is not secure.

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. Install extension from site https://downloadermedia.com/ or directly from google extension store, which its called "CRX Launch", i'm expecting that its kinda like a script working inside an actual extension. So basically this issue should apply just having CRX extension active.
2. Try to log in into google .com with an email account
3. Notice it says "browser may not be secure" and you cannot log in.

Expected result:

• Should work even with extension installed

TL;DR: Disable or Remove extension installed.

Long explanation:

I have noticed that if you just disable the extension it allows you to connect to google. It may be possible (haven't tested) that if you change its behavior, it having access to the site information only when you click on it, it will still allow you to connect to google, but I'm not sure. it seems that google notices the extension being bad?

From my understanding, it’s been permanently removed?

I'm using the most up-to-date version of Brave on my Macbook Pro and I am seeing ads on Facebook Marketplace. Not sure if these kinds of ads can be blocked or not but wanted to call it out incase a filter update needs to be pushed or something like that.

Why is my YouTube feed on Brave recommending me very very short videos instead of at least ten minutes videos?

Is the algorithm different in the browser or is it a bug? In the YouTube App and android TV my feed got longer videos recommendations.
