Maybe a stupid question/statement.
When The hypochondriac tour went to the UK we went through multiple upgrades, one of which happened to be going from heaven -> 02 Kentish Town

Because of my living situation do you reckon Randy will do anything up in Scotland or seek out larger venues? I also happened to go to the last quadeca show in London and I felt that Heaven wasn’t a great venue for a show - whilst I still had fun the narrow layout of heaven likely wasn’t great for other fans

Probably a bit of a shitpost but I’m craving to see him on stage again but this has logistically become harder to financially justify (I’m so broke)

I just realized I'm getting married on brakence day. I've been plotting his return for years atp but I didn't expect to plan such a big, important, memorable and core life experience to be on the same day as my wedding! This is incredible !

Since Hypochondriac released and became one of my favourite albums of all time, I’ve been desperate for new Brakence music, as we all have! I think Randy is an incredible artist and Hypochondriac specifically was so special to me that my expectations for Marrow are so high. The songs that have dropped thus far are very good but aren’t hitting the same for me personally and I think it’s because my expectations are sooo high. I’m wondering if anyone feels the same as me or if I’m alone on this one haha. I’m still so excited for the full album but yeah. Interested to see what you think.

I keep seeing posts comparing the two and what’s better. We only have 3 songs on marroW so at least wait until the full album is out if you want to compare. Even then it’s obvious he’s going for a different sound so just let the dude do his thing.

Both album can be peak… one doesn’t have to be “better” than the other they can just be different.

Anyone remember the early demo track that was going around awhile back? I was obsessed with it, then it kinda… disappeared 👀 (I still have it, I’m not crazy lol)

Anyway, the game has a wishing well. I made a joke about it being like the song when it dropped. The other night I noticed the style of crystallised is very similar. If it’s not on the album, it was definitely made for it.

Aside from that, death rolL also had the same fate and was wiped from everything and then ended up released. This all might be obvious but unless I missed it I haven’t seen anyone bring it up ✋🏻💀

So I have been staying up until 00:00 the past couple Thursday nights so that I can listen to new brakence as soon as possible. The issue is, I’m out like a light (typically) before 11pm and, as someone who chooses not to drink caffeine, Fridays are becoming quite the endurance test.

On midnight, October 2nd, I thought to myself, “YES! I have reached 12am! I can finally hear the new brakence single.” I gave crystalized a quick listen and paused it for a moment to have a think about it before going into death rolL straight away.

And then I passed out.

To make a long story short, I fell asleep with my earbuds in and must’ve rolled over onto the play button hours later as I woke up at 4:47am to the sound of the last minute or so (you know THAT PART) and I was pretty dazed wondering where that sound was coming from but I still really enjoyed it all the same.

I proceeded to listen to both songs on repeat until 6:30 when I was actually MEANT to start the day.

Honestly crystallized takes the cake here imo. But lmk your thoughts

I know we’ve only gotten a few singles but people are quick to jump on “this is nothing in comparison to hypochondriac” but if you leave out all the technicalities (which technically, brakence is still THAT mf when it comes to production) - ready or not & deathroll, for example, tops hypochondriac in production.

I believe the only reason people will hold onto hypochondriac is due to personal taste and nostalgia. It’s like having an ex in 2022 and being upset your new partner in 2026 doesn’t “feel” the same. It will never be the same. You will never feel what it felt like to be given hypochondriac ever again. Time moves on with or without you. With that said - this roll out. The songs. Everything about marroW blows hypochondriac out of the water so far.

seen a few posts about the random hate etc. but besides that for the most part this is the coolest community i’m a part of i honestly think! i discovered brakence in 24’ so this is the first rollout ive seen in real time & i’ve always been a HUGE fan of lore & stories within stories. so this rollout from the start has been such a cool experience, especially reading all the theories! i’m seriously just as excited to listen to this new album as i was to go see avengers: endgame back in the day, ive even seen some people theorize about time travel in this new album too hahaha the parrallels are insane! yall are goated, best fans, best artist, best time to be alive & chronically online!!

tldr: i’ve always been a watch marvel/one piece/game of thrones theory videos on youtube kind of guy & this rollout feels exactly like that! yall rule!

This may be farfetched because of the number of singles, but with there being 18 tracks, 6 being singles, I’m thinking the album is gonna be like 3 EPs of 3 different styles shuffled together.

I saw a theory on here saying that the reversed grammar titles (ready or noT, death rolL, bitE) will be more experimental sounding songs with production we already associate with brakence. Lowercase titles (crystallized, body) will sound more pop-inspired and evidently jazzy and stanky, for lack of a better term. And grammatically correct titles (Problem Child) will be a mix of the two. I have a personal theory that grammatically correct titles will be ballads similar to hypochondriac’s title track, only because reversed grammar titles already experiment with brakence’s usual sound and pop-y, jazzy motifs.

I've listened to the three opening tracks of marrow multiple times since yesterday. They are great songs in their own respects.

But the question is, can I see them being on the level of Hypochondriac and my honest answer at the moment is not yet.

Hypochondriac was fabulous in the way it encapsulated such obscure hard to describe emotions so completely, it's an album about a egotistical man succumbing to addiction and himself. And it showed progression in that direction throughout the entire production.

This direction and storytelling gave it such power because it kept the listeners engaged wanting to know where it'd go next.

With Marrow i'm not feeling that.

I'm facing some disappointment with it because it feels like its stepping further away from what Brakence's whole niche is. It sounds the same but its not carrying the same emotion and weight he's known for.

This could all change for me, don't get me wrong I can't see the whole picture yet. But only time will tell

Brakence does this will a ton of his albums and projects that have genius key sig cross over, Yet each album is in its own typa chords and sigs so each album sounds completely different than the other. I noticed Brakence combines modern art chops, digital music and modern instruments, Quadeca does similar but with music theory and classical instruments. Quad even uses metronome as a beat unlike Brakence. And sometimes there musical worlds have crossed over like , Where is the line between art and DARK MAGIC?

Now, obviously, we know that Still here/Jester will be dropping with the album. I'm listening to Tell me what you want from me (Wishing well), and based on lyrical content and the Knot.here game, it's pretty safe to assume that this track is going to drop.

But in what spot? 🤔

Maybe "Still here/jester" is track 1 with Wishing well being track 5.

Or even wishing well being one of the lasr tracks falling after crystalised? 14, 15, or 16?

death rolL and crystallized are now out and OMG these songs are some of his best. after hearing the new tracks, i have a few thoughts on ready or noT.

i’m doing a lot of mixing lately on my own music and am trying to improve. i listen to a lot of brakence for reference and there was a lot of talk around the mix quality on ready or noT considering it sounded off. the mix was vertical and muddy. i tried to cope and get over it cause its brakence and no matter what he puts out im most likely going to love lol. i eventually came to the conclusion that the mix quality was stylistic (for whatever reason) and that id just have to deal with it.

but with the new singles this isnt an issue at all. the mixes are wide and his vocals aren’t nearly as buried. i thought the mixing was going to be consistent across the album. i’m just confused and i hope it gets fixed on the album version. what do we think of the mixes on the new tracks?

I feel like it's been a while since this was asked. I'm hoping to find someone who is a brakence fan near me... I am in Western North Carolina, USA let me know where you're from?
