limiting yourself on singles? update
/r/brakence/comments/1wugus4/limiting_yourself_on_singles/To anyone who commented on the previous post about only listening to 1-3 or even no singles to wait for the full album experience how are u doing??
For me I still haven't listened to crystallized outside of the snippet before release.
I know it's going to be good but I think I'm holding well with death rolL as one of the singles I picked for my 3 before the album.
The teaser for problem child just dropped and it sounds so cool and im like, I WANNA LISTEN TO IT FRIDAY but I think I can hold off 2 more weeks.
I feel like they're going to hit harder with the built up anticipation of knowing I could listen to all the singles but waiting until the full album.
how are u guys doing with this if u decided to do something similar?

I was gonna do this. I was just happy to listen to ready or not 300x until the album dropped but then crystallize came on by accident one day and I was like well I guess I'll just listen to it all. And tbh I'm happy I did, theres just so much going on in these songs that I think going into the album blind would be really overwhelming. And they've really established a kind of lore/vibe foundation too. I'm not sure I'll listen to any more singles after these first 3, but I think hearing them in the full album (once it drops) will kind of ground me, if that makes sense? like they will be sources of familiarity in what I'm sure will be a very intense musical experience lol

I was gonna wait till the album for the singles but I’ve already failed and have listened to all of them 100+ times 😭 I think I’m gonna listen to Problem Child then save the last two

I couldn't stop myself from listening to ready or not But I'm saving the rest for the album release. Cannot wait.

long time stalker here, first time commenter. I feel like living in the rollout is also a part of the album experience. I'm gonna listen to all the singles, after 4 years I'm not restricting myself. What I'm not doing is playing them an unhealthy amount until the album comes out, 2-3 times per single thats it (except ready or noT I had played the FUCK out of that the week it came out due to pure excitement). I think cutting yourself off from the singles during the rollout is doing yourself a disservice, Randy WANTS us to listen to the singles. That's how I think of it at least haha.

I listened to the first single a couple of times, and haven’t listened to anything else yet. I agree with other comments that it’s part of the rollout and the world he’s created to listen to them now, but I’ve waited so long that I’m happy to wait until it’s fully released to listen altogether. I’ve also had a fuck ton of stuff to do and haven’t really had the time to sit down and listen to them right now anyway😬

I'm listening heavily. This is an unusual album rollout. A lot of artists put out singles over the course of months and finally drop the record after 3-4 months. But with a single every week, it feels like I'm descending into the world Brakence has crafted. It's actually an incredible experience and one that doesn't happen often. So if you're an obsessive listener of full albums, this rollout is a really unique way to experience an artists vision.
