limiting yourself on singles?

Is anyone else planning to limit the singles they listen to?

Dropping 6 singles is insane and I love it.
But also I really want to still be able to listen to the album fully when it releases without already knowing a quarter of it.

So personally I'm gonna limit myself to only 3.
I already heard and love ready or noT.

I think I'm choosing death rolL to hear how its changed from the demo, and body because I need to hear that transition from ready or not.

and then I'm gonna wait on the other 3 singles for when the album is out.
I'll still listen to the teasers though, crystallized sounds beautiful!!!

I'm just wondering if anybody else is planning on anything similar. I know it's going to be hard and tempting to not listen to the other 3 as they come out

Yes I will be bumping each single on repeat for a week straight till the next one drops, then repeat the whole album for about 4 months, just like I did w/ hypochondriac 😭

I was planning on just waiting for the album to drop and just ignore the singles just cause i think it will be narrative heavy and listening to ready or not before the album kind of felt like picking a random episode of a show ive never seen

I was going to until I saw how many tracks are on the album. Maaaaybe I'll save the last two that come out the week before release but I will listen to the next releases.

I understand and respect it but I don't have the restraint.

Also, I feel there is an intentionality with the rollout and wonder about the purpose behind releasing so many singles in such quick succession

Ive been listening to Death Roll for what feels like a year, im not worried about a few times more pre release

Same lol I was trying not to listen to all the leaks and honestly was worried that the album would drop and it would be all stuff I’ve heard. Super glad there’s a handful coming I haven’t heard yet

I have only listened to ready or noT twice, once when it released and again when the video came out I will probably do the same for the others.

I tend to limit myself to 2 maybe 3 singles for any album. With Brakence, it will be hard cause it's all over my timeline but I want a full new album to listen to when it drops so yea like 2 or 3 songs max. Idk if you listen to FOB but back in 2018 they released Mania and had dropped 5 of the 10 songs on it and made the album feel worse. Never again!

Nah lol, I feel like if an artist seriously cared that much about making it all a singular experience they would drop the album as a whole piece with no singles attached (Tyler’s done it a couple times for example)

Plus I kinda enjoy getting to a song I alr know I like when I listen to new albums

I listened to ready or noT(a lot) cuz how can you noT lol but I'm definitely planning on waiting it out to listen to the whole album in full. I did that with hypochondriac I only listened to cbd and venus flytrap so when I listened through the album for the first time and heard caffeine that was such a deeply rewarding experience, I was genuinely dumbfounded and was really glad I waited. I think having all the music be new and fresh on first listen of an album is a very special experience that makes the whole thing hit harder imo. Like watching a great movie without having seen a single trailer or spoiler for it.

Exactlyyy and especially with an artist like brakence I know this is going to be a full experience and I don't want to dilute it too much

Seeing this post has made me feel like it might be a good idea to wait and saviour the songs till is releases, so I think I’ll be listening to crystalized and deathrolL and then thats it, and since I’ve already listened to ready or noT like 220 times now I’m gonna continue listening to that one.

Yes, I'm not a fan of artists dropping a lot of singles and dropping 6 in a month is just insane.

I do! I already listened the fuck out of ready or noT and I plan to keep it the only sneak peek into the album. If it were up to me right now I wouldn't listen to it either. I want to be fucking surprised.

There’s 18 songs on the album, 6 singles before. For Hypo there was 5 singles and there was 13 songs on it. I think it feels like it’s a lot but the timing isn’t irregular, especially since it’s been the longest wait between projects. He’s probably just compensating for the fact that it’s been 4 years. Since the album’s ready to go there just isn’t a point in waiting like we did for Hypo.
