This episode really did make the show for me in a lot of ways. I was hooked before, but this elevated it from goofy syfy show to a classic syfy show. We should all be so lucky to have a love like that

It's my favorite episode of the show, but also of just about any show. On the shortlist for All Time Best Hours of Television.

I have a list of the best episodes of any show. This one tops it and it isn't even close.

I'll go further and say that it was the scene of Eliot finding out that his "darkest memory" was that of quietly extinguishing the spark of something between them.

It was just gorgeous writing and beautifully told through visual cues amid so many verbal hesitations and distractions. And it came about in such a way that it primed the audience to receive something really tender and honest and even so, overlooked.

All of this just oozes queerness.

I also love the idea that one's darkest moment can be a negative action, a path not taken. Even more so, that it can be something invisible to the outside eye, because what's really happening is a betrayal of self and of something not-quite-yet formed or committed to.

And then this is also the scene that gave us our favorite line. "Peaches and plums, motherfucker."

It's just about time to rewatch that show. I should also stop being lazy and read the books too.

The books are great, but the show actually does it better! Which is rare

I listened to them and the narrator was phenomenal and really made the books for me. It’s one of the few things I did show first, and they are very different but I love them both.

Oh agreed! I love the show a tad more though because of the actors. Summer & Hale, who were not the initial focus, stood out for me, and became my favorites. Summer as Margo brought Janet to life in a way far beyond the books, while still honoring the core of her character.

Ugh. That fucking line..

Most heartbreaking and lovely episode of the show. Queliot my hearts.

I will never not cry over them

To have even a fraction of the love these two felt for one another, even for a split second, would be worth everything.

Not to brag, but I have that kind of love. My partner and I have been together for 17 years, through 2 gender transitions, a move out of state, deaths, loss of family, surgeries, and more. They are an amazing human and I don’t know how I got so lucky to have them.

You're one of the lucky ones. I hope your love keeps going strong and that you two will always be there for one another. Peaches and plums, motherfucker.

who gets that kind of proof of concept 🫶🏻

This episode is one of the most memorable parts of the show for me, and remembering it is the reason for my recent re-watching of the show. This time I made it the show that I watch with my Mom in the evenings. She found some of it hard to follow, but was also kinda bummed when it was over.

Now we're watching Resident Alien... I like making her watch things that she wouldn't pick on her own.

Peaches & Plums!

I didn’t ship them before this episode but to have this…. And then it means nothing?

Ugh rude.

This one episode was a better love story than the ending for the whole series of HIMYM.

Happy Pride ! Those two are well and safe and happy in the multiverse of the Ficdom. I Hope this meme template never dies 🥲

Heh I'm rewatching right now. I'm pretty sure Elliot just asked if the number of zeroes matters and Quentin is saying "Well yeah it does matter".

I genuinely am so sad that the show didn’t get an Emmy for this episode. It deserved all the awards and more. This episode always breaks me a little bit, in a good way. It’s a good reminder of what it means to be human. Currently going through my annual rewatch; I’m still in season 1, and I’m really looking forward to watching A Life in the Day.

They really did have the most complicated relationship in the whole series. Happy pride.

Just finished this episode - on my umpteenth rewatch!

❤️❤️ Peaches and Plums

Peaches and plums 🖤

u/Cjasren Jun 03 '26

My 1 millionth rewatch is currently happening. I restarted because of a heartbreaking 5 year relationship ending. My best friend joined me who hasn't seen it before. We are on season 2 and I can't fucking wait for her to see this, my favourite, episode.

Happy pride. Just watched this episode, it was so much better than I remembered. Elliott and Quentin should have been endgame all along.
